Nah, I appreciate the help :). I haven't even downloaded a 1.8 version of Forge (universal or source) yet, and don't plan on doing so until I get my own mods into a stable position. Since 1.8 introduced a lot of changes, I need to read up on these changes before I begin updating anyways.

1.8 changes how blocks are textured, so doing what I am doing won't work.

Thats the code now rename the end witch is amethystore to your block CAPSENSITIVE and mta: put that to yourmodid:
Then click file save as and click minecrafts down arrow src's down arrow main's down arrow resources's down arrow till you get to assets/yourmodid/models/block and file name will be your blocks name .json CAPSENSITIVE
Then you want to make another Untitled Text File and copy this code
remember amethystore is the block name CAPSENSITIVE and mta is the modid so remember to save it as your blocksname.json this time inside assets/yourmodid/blockstates

I was wondering how you learned to mod minecraft? Did you just look through the code and figure it out yourself, or did you follow a tutorial?
I mostly looked through Minecraft code and open source mods, alongside the occasional google. It took me 3 years to get to a point where I was pretty confident in making a public mod, but I didn't really care because I just got into modding to learn.
I've had previous experience in object-oriented programming, so that made it much easier then if I didn't.

So ..... I've decided I like your tutorials way to much and tomorrow I'm going to go to the library and reinstall forge. Now that I've done it once it should be easier. Your tutorials are too good to bother with modding 1.8. Thanks for the help though. You rock @mattrocks! Atleast I can reuse some of the files after I reinstall it. Is there anything I need to do specifically (aside from deleting the new version & reinstalling the old) to be able to downgrade forge?

You need to make a new package in your assets if you already have textures we are not working with that
so in the assets make a new package called models in that make another package called item
then make another called block it should look like this

now once all of those packages are made make another in assets called blockstates
Now once all of those are done goto your blocks package in assets/yourmodid/models/block and then click
In Eclipse File Hover Your Mouse Over New And Click Untitled Text File

I just started setting up my main class file, and when I hover over it, it doesn't give me the option to import.
Those are obsolete in 1.8
The error may not be with importing. To manually import something, just type "import whateverneedsimporting".
