Hi every one, I started learning modding from vswe's videos but, there was many things not covered, as a matter of fact, i was developing a mod that is called J Piston, and you can find me posting the progress on the wip forum every now and then.
The idea of recording a video series for tutorials was not new for me, I had a channel that have videos for Unity3D so, when i got to the point that i thought i had a good understanding of coding for minecraft, I started a new series for Modding a minecraft mod, the interesting part of this series is that in needs to cover every aspect of Modding, from very basics to very advanced things because the nature of the mod needs it anyways, so far I recorded lots of videos but uploading them in you tube take a little time for me, i will constantly Upload them and fix the list bellow to add the links for the videos.
Remember the list bellow will grow as time passes and new videos will be added at the end of the list, if have any request, any idea, any problem, or you found something wrong in my description please put a little time and put a comment in the forum.

Then get ready sir. Many stuff waited u. Just finished recording the ISBRH session. Although I didn't like the amount of explanation for piston stuff (needed more imo) but other than that I think I covered things the best I can.
But entities, if you mean mobs I never worked on them and this mod has no concept that would allow any mob in it but there should be tutorials out there on yu tube. But the core of animations in mine craft is to rotate your matrix one way or another unless you are dealing with isbrh.
On the side note. I think there should be something around at least for animating mob walk and attack
Can you make a tutorial on time based world events? Like you can have a anvil dropped on a random player every 5 minutes or something. I want to make a small mod that has time based events that do random things to annoy the player, but I don't know where to begin.

TBH i never used world events to that extend but at least i think you should subscribe an event handler to track player and you need an internal timer/player, then when that timer ticks, you would do what ever you need to do, for start, in main mod base check what FML events you have access to. on and also, the tracking of the players, timer/player and handling events that should happen in world, you better doing all of that server side other wise you will get unsynced

Do you think it would be better for using player update events instead? Seeing as how this mod would only do something for a player.

where do you get all of the random files? there is no way to get them
if by random files you mean the batch files, they are just things i made to run the gradle commands because i'm lazy, but if you want, you can get them here : https://bitbucket.org/Jiraiyah/minecraftbatchfiles
If you mean the source tree, it's a program to manage the repositories, it's free and you can get it, just search google and it should be first choice to go to the link.
Also it's worth mentioning that :
1- I moved all my repositories to BitBucket
2- Made JPiston private repository, If you are following the tutorials, it's much better to sit and type the code yourself to let your brain get familiar with coding
Im disappointed :-( You forget about tutorials. I coant do my factory. Files on github and videos is different things. I cant see code on video (720p).

possible, but even then, you need to do things on server side not the client side
