Hello every body I'm hear with a tutorial on how to make a mod for minecraft 1.7+. If you have any questions post a comment!!!
In this episode we setup and create are mod. Hear is a vid on it as well as a stuff to clear things up.
To setup the mod watch the video.
Wen you complete the modding part, read this to get a better understanding of what is going on hear.
First we are going to look at:
@Mod(modid = TutorialMain.modid, version = TutorialMain.version, name = TutorialMain.name)
So the @Mod part I don't quite know what it is but with out it your mod would not be called at all.
The modid part I do know. It sets the ID for the mod, it's the name that minecraft uses to identify the mod.
Now the version is the version of your mod, so in are case 1.0. it could be any thing you like, like 2.75.12.5 or pickle even.
Finally the name. this is the human readable name of your mod. When you click mods on the title screen of minecraft this is the name you look for if your trying to fined out if you have the mod.
Next we are going to look at
public static final String modid = "TutorialMod";
This is a String which is a bunch of characters(letters & numbers & anything else on the keyboard) "strung" together.
The public at the beginning is to make it so any class and access it.
And the static part i'm not quite sure about. I do know that static classes can only accept static variables.
Now the final is so that it can't be changed.
The modid part is just the name of this String, this can be whatever you want.
