Hello everyone! I have noticed that many people who make models in techne create them using wrong techniques. I have created this tutorial to show the most common mistakes that many modelers make, and how to Improve them and make modders, like myself, have less of a hard time implementing them into game. Also, if you are here for my models, you can find them here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/minecraft-mods/mods-discussion/2233370-alexthe666s-model-page
Most Common Problems
the most common problems that modelers make are as following:
1. Default Rotation Points
people usually leave the rotation points in the corner of the model. this is not how it should be done.
the Reason this is bad is for animation purposes. for example, say I wanted to animate one of my modelers, Commandsaurus , and edit one of his improperly edited models.
(image 1)
as you can see, the rotation point(blue dot) for the model is at the top right front corner. typically, when you create a model, the rotation point is in this place by default. if your model's rotation point is like this, something is wrong with your model, and you should fix it.
Why is this a Problem?
this is a problem because, when the entity is put in game, this is the point it rotates around. for exampe lets look at the second image (image 2). lets say, for example, I rotated the foot's rotation point for a custom swimming animation(the foot is fixed in Image 4). in game, the model's leg would be floating next to it's body.
What if the Part that has the messed up rotation point will not animate? do I need to fix it?
the answer to this will always be yes. even if you don't want it to rotate, sometimes the modder needs to find the center of the animal, and if it has a messed up rotation point, that will be messed up. other situations would require it also.
How do I fix it?
it is a simple fix. what you need to do is to make sure the rotation point is in the place you want to animate at (or at the center, if you don't want animation)by using the Offset bar(circled in red in Image 3). then change the position bar(circled in blue in Image 3) to move it back into place.
I know that there is currently one tutorial, but more are to come. Keep on Modeling!

this is not a model suggestion thread, you should also be able to find tutorials online or find a modeler who will make it.
