I have once got this error, and the mod runs completely fine, no crashes, no broken textures.

Well, Java is pretty serious about lowercase and uppercase. I'll see if this fixes my errors

It didn't fix it. mine is lowercase. And my icons do not load even when I get the error. However, my armor textures work perfect.

Check if you have duplicate item IDs with vanilla item IDs in your code.

I'm putting them in 1.6.4. Jar (The one that comes with MCP) -> assets -> minecraft -> textures -> items

how do you add more animals and change what your character looks like?

edit: (by what your character looks like i mean the player. like if i wanted to change the player to a different thing)

I'm interested in trying my hand at modding (mostly my son is interested in Modding, and I'm interested in nurturing his interest in learning computer programming), and I (we) wanted to start playing around with it. Forge and MCP are currently compatible with MC 1.6.4, but I can't seem to find anywhere to download an older version of Minecraft in order to use these tools and start playing around with them.

Are there any links to earlier versions of Minecraft than the current update 1.7.4? Or am I stuck waiting for MCP and Forge to update to the current version of Minecraft?

(If this was asked before, I apologize, I did some searches and didn't find anything related to this inquiry).

haha thanks man thats awesome! I will be doing mobs right away, it is a pretty long process and kinda hard and I've had a TON of school work latley but its christmas break now so Ill be getting it out soon! just doing a few of the quick and easy things first
