Info: The newer forge 1.7.2 have an Idfix included, it isnt new, but it didn't work in older versions!
Mod Installation is sometimes very hard and sometimes its very easy. Heres a tutorial to solve basic problems.
Forge:
Forge is needed for all mods that go to the mods folder.
Download installer here: files.minecraftforge.net
or usw Multimc(Multimc is very usefull)
Basic Installation:
Put Mod jar/ZIP in the mods folder.
Warning: Some mods also needs some folders so follow first their instructions!
Also install the needed core mods.
Block Id conflicts:
Most times Forge creates a Idconflicts.txt in your .minecraft.
Open the file, then you can see the conflicting ids. At the bottom Forge tells you some ids that you can use. Go to the mod config and change the ids that are conflicting to another.
Sometimes Chickenbones mods make a crash when ids are conflicting, open the report and check it, then change the ids
Important:
Minecraft won't crash then there are item id conflicts!
You have find them by yourself. I recommend using Multimc, it makes black background on item id conflicts.
Non Crafting items
Only for Items that aren't used in recipes!
Find the conflict in the log and change the id to another, very easy!
Crafting Items
Only Open-source mods!
Change the id in the config then download the source code if the mod and change the recipes that you use for the conflicting item, compile the mod and use the self compiled version. If you dont do that the recipes that need the conflicting item wont work.
