How exactly do you open decompile.sh in the terminal on a mac? I know you have to drag the mcp folder into it to determine the directory, but what do you do next?

Sorry for that i'm relatively new to forum posting and i didn't know that the Spoiler was in Special BBcodes.
Is it giving a fileNotFound exception or... hmm, just post the error (in a spoiler!) and I'll try to figure it out.

When life gives you a potato, wonder why the heck life just gave you a potato. Why not something else? Like money? Or a combustable lemon? No, you get a potato. Nothing else.
Your second recipe should be addShapelessRecipe. And instead of what you have in the Object Array (Object[]) it should be Block.dirt. So it should like this,
ModLoader.addShapelessRecipe(new ItemStack(RubyOre, 1), new Object[] {Block.dirt});
Ok. I did that. Modloader doesn't like my pickaxe recipe though. Says something is wrong with "Item.Ruby"...
ModLoader.addRecipe(new ItemStack(RubyPick, 1), new Object [] {"###", " @ ", " @ ", Character.valueOf('#'), Item.Ruby, Character.valueOf('@'), Item.stick});
Hey everyone, Tgsachse here, and using what I've learned from these tutorials, I am trying to mentor others through videos! Here is episode 2, where we design a basic block.

Oh, you just forgot your ArcaniumOre.png in your /textures/ file or you spelled it wrong in Eclipse or the file name.

Ok, thats fair enough, may I keep the two I already have posted here? or should I remove those somehow?
Leave them there, but don't post anymore.

Thanks for the help, but i did have everything correct, the problem appears to be that MCP is not compiling my textures and after compiling and re-obfuscating it i added the pictures manually. After installing it into a clean version of Minecraft (with modloader) it worked fine. So i guess i'll just have to add the picture files manually from now on.

Been browsing these forums for years as a guest, then finally decided to make an account, and here we are.
In the tools section why is the hoe and sword extending Item.class and the othe tools extend ItemNamehereTool
It's just the way they are set up. They don't quite have the same properties.

Make sure you have all your commas and semicolons in the proper places, and make sure things are spelled correctly, I've had this error before and I had a misplaced comma.
EDIT: Also, if you aren't using eclipse, I highly recommend it, its a life saver.
I love this idea
plus just wondering when will npc be updated so we can learn more? ^^
Yea, I'm checking every hour for the NPC tut.

Retired StaffWhat's wrong with it? Does it not work or is it crashing?
Also, you don't/shouldn't add your ruby in to item.java. You define it in your mod_ class and just call it from there.
