I started making an adventure map a few months ago. I've been thinking about how to make the world feel alive. I've been looking into ways to do this but very few of the mods/ plugins are actually clear on what they do, so I am posing this question to the community.
I'd like to fill my map with dungeons, shops, and NPC's that players can interactwith. Is there a way to include these things and still have the map work on vanilla minecraft? MCedit will get me pretty far, but I've not found a filter that allows for the cration of banks, shops, and NPCs that can be interacted with. I've looked into the Citizens 2 plugin for bukkit but I'm not sure that this will do what I want. I've also looked into the custom NPC mod by noppes. This one is more along the lines of what I want.
All in all I'd like the ability to make these things happen wich doesnt seem to hard. The problem is when I finish the map I dont want to have people download a mod just to play the map I've made.
Thanks for any help in adviance. I hope I've been clear in communicating my goals.

At this current point in time, it is basically impossible to do want you want without Noppes NPC Mod. Your map will have to be watered down for you to be able to make it in vanilla. If you do decide to use Noppes mod, only use that one. It has more than enough tools to make you map original and entertaining
Okay Thanks! How would I go about sharing this map then? Most places i've seen only share vanilla maps, or is there a way to pack the mod in with the .zip file?

not impossible. just difficult. if you want it to be easy to play, but hard to make, use vanilla and learn how to use command blocks, there are so many possibilities with them, more than what most people know.
if you want your map easy to make but difficult to install go ahead and use that npc mod. but i dont think people will want to download mods just for an adventure map.
