step 1:

Download your mod.


Step 2:

search %appdata% and click Roaming


step 3:


open .minecraft



step 4:

open Minecraft .jar with winRAR, WinZip, or 7Zip (links in a spoiler)


step 5:



drag your files in to Minecraft.jar



step 6


open Minecraft




step 7:

Delete META-INF



if you have a mod installer.EXE, then open that up and install it like normal.



WARNING: I am not responsible for any files lost in this process.


if you are installing something such as forge or Modloader, then do what you would do for Mods.


Mac tutorial:


download the mod.


go to Library-Application Support-Minecraft


Open bin


Extract Minecraft.jar with The Unarchiver


Delete META-INF



drag your files into the .jar


done!



pretty much everything from before.
