Hi, I am at a loss, because my minecraft is not running smoothly.
Playing minecraft does not feel like it is a solid 60fps, even though pressing F3 says that I am getting about 140fps on average, (fluctuating enormously, even when I'm standing still, from 90-180fps.
My System Specs are as follows.
GeForce 9600 GT 512MB
Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4 GHz
2 GB RAM
My minecraft settings are as follows
Render Distance: 8 Chunks
Advanced Open GL: Off (Game runs 40fps with it on)
Enable vSync and see if that stabilizes your game. You may be experience what we call "screen tearing" due to fluctuating FPS.
I have VSync enabled universally in the NVidia control panel, I turned it off for some time when I was testing my fps just before I asked for help. After I turn VSync on, either from the control panel or from in minecraft, it is locked at a solid 120fps, as I have a 120Hz monitor.
It wasn't screen tearing, I know what that is, but the issue is almost like there is a frame skip turned on, similar to older game emulators
