So, is there any other aquarium owners here? Feel free to tell what your tank or tanks are! Be it saltwater, freshwater, or even brackish. I'm asking partly because it seems just so rare to have an aquarium.
While I'm not currently an aquarium owner, I've been very interested in the hobby and would very much like to own one once I'm out of my dorm and I have enough money to do so.
I've been looking around at gar fish, but looking around at brackish fish like puffers is pretty interesting and cool. Kind of interesting the behavior of puffers; I normally wouldn't think that they'd be an aggressive fish. Actually watches a River Monsters episode that featured puffers and it was pretty shocking.
What kind of aquaria do you have, and do you have any tips for new enthusiasts?

Ihave a 90 gallon aquarium. It's gone through moves and has been up for years. It's very heavily planted. I'm looking to add more fish soon.
Fish:
1 Bolivian Ram,
1 Banjo catfish,
2 Neon Tetras (My banjo catfish keeps eating them when they're sleeping...),
5 various Corydoras cats including Albinos,
1 Adult male angelfish. He's my big boy. He's about 6 years old, and I've had him since he was a baby. Sadly the rest of his friends died
from various occasions, namely moving, and the latest, his breeding mate died from a strange mold I've never seen before.
For those new to the hobby, I'd stick with Freshwater before moving on so you can grasp the basics. There's abosloute loads of things I can point
out but I don't mean to be writing a novel.
Gar require particularly large tanks and a meaty diet. If you ever do so choose to have one, be wary of it's tankmates. If you decide to use feeder fish, be very careful. Make sure that the feeder fish aren't carrying a sickness or parasite that can hurt your Gar.
Freshwater/Brackishpuffers are somewhat aggressive. They are also quite the fin nippers, so watch it's tank mates. It will happily devour snails if it ever so finds some.
I am not a person who owns an aquarium, but I do have a question for those who do. Do you consider it a decoration piece, or a home for your pet?
I don't see a reason why I couldn't say both. They can greatly help the aesthetics of a home or office, and also serve as a home for my fish. Namely my big boy "Ludwig". Had him since he was a dime sized baby.
i have two fish tanks one in my room and one in the gaming area. the first one in my room has two fish in it (i have no idea what one is called and the other is one of those bottom feeders) and in the gaming area we have a small tank with a goldfish (who suffers from having blood spots on his body yet we give him some like vitamin D i think to help him out).

Yeah, it's a bit of an odd off-topic discussion.

Figured it was time for a change.

I have one, but there aren't any fish it it mainly since they all died. Now I'm just looking for ways to sell it so it can get out of the house.
You can just call me Canary.

I'm thinking about getting one. I have no money at the moment, so it's kinda "out there".
I mostly stick with your average crown-tailed beta in terms of owning fish in general.
Nothing wrong with that. I've considered getting a special breed of Betta, namely the White Halfmoon.
