Simple question, do you guys think that Minecraft has a more active community than Terraria? I've gotten a good few hundred hours logged into both, and I wanna know what you guys think. I know I have an answer in my head already.
Minecraft obviously. 12 million MC players vs what is it again like 3/4 million T players?

I'll go with Minecraft and not just in terms of sales figures but also the number of active player and servers. And I find the Minecraft community to be much more vocal especially on YouTube with many demanding for LPers to do Minecraft content although there so much out there already by the smaller channels.
But in my opinion, Minecraft is built to have an active community, from how it is advertised via word of mouth to the multiplayer where hundreds of players can enter a single server.
I don't mean how active in-game, I mean how active the community is. Minecraft would clearly be more active for players in game because it has tons more players.
I love, love, love Terraria, but most of the time i can't find specific information or even a thread related to what i'm looking for. Unfortunately, the Steam forums just aren't as active as here. I use forums a lot for all our games because just watching videos isn't ever going to be an option for me. Minecraft community has more people, more information, and more help all located in their forums than any other game i play. It makes getting answers/ideas, etc., much easier.

~My problem is a simple one: I'm severely allergic to stupid.~
Minecraft is more active, but you just have to look at the comments of a Sky or Ant video to realise why that doesn't necessarily mean it's a good thing.
Or look at the forums. We're INSIDE the best example.
