I for one think it will be the best one, it looks freakin beastly. Great looking so far, cool gameplay and co-op! and thats just what we saw at E3, imagine what the full game will be like!
I heard that EA said 5 million copies need to be sold for Dead Space 3 or it's off to the chopping block. The developers are now making it more accessible to people. In other words streamlining and making the game simpler just to appeal to a massive audience. This is almost always sad news for the long dedicated fans of the series.

I disagree. It all depends on the level of the change - something that ruins the original value is bad. Something that makes gameplay more fun yet just as complex is good.

I believe DS3 is going through the second route.
Considering many people who call themselves "gamers" want simple and easy they will need to go from Dead Space 2's two million sold to five million. There must be huge changes to be able to do that. Whether it is bad or good remains to be seen.
So the moral of the story is as simple as this: You can let your dreams go, but you're surely gonna miss
the chance to achieve greatness in the only life you've got. So forget all your problems and give it your best shot.

The trailer looks bad. Just another example of EA dabbling its fingers in matters, and diluting a franchise to serve the masses. I'm fine with the "take the fight to them" premise, I actually sort of like it. But coop is a terrible decision, and simply doesn't belong. Nor does the stereotypical military grunt spouting constant obscenities. They've also taken Isaac's speaking role much too far.
Short version, Dead Space's solitary nature is what attracted me to it. The feeling of vulnerability, constant threat of death and elevated requirement for caution and keeping your senses heightened. The visceral combat. They did away with everything that made it unique or immersive. Adding multiplayer in the second iteration was a clear sign of things to come.
It screams "generic third-person shooter" - lots of cutscenes, QTEs, universal ammo, and none of the claustrophobic suspense that made the first game good (although I still didn't like it enough to play for more than a few hours). Basically it looks ****
generic? ****? what game has plasma cutters, necromorphs, surprise, issac clarke, and a bad ass storyline?
