I'd like to know why the Xbox series S even exists,
considering the stronger series X is actually a leap forward compared to the previous generation.
it's not really that much of an improvement over the Xbox One X, only real difference it having a faster CPU and 512gb SSD etc. But it in fact has a weaker GPU and has slightly less RAM than the Xbox One X, 4 teraflops is 2 teraflops inferior to the XB1X 6 teraflops GPU, so inevitably you'd be losing 4k capability, not to mention you won't even have a disc drive which essentially means if you have a library of physical Xbox games, they'd be rendered useless, a discless console will not be compatible with them.
if you're going to go to the newer generation console, in my opinion then you may as well get a console that is superior across the board or an improvement in a feature where it most matters. If you have got a 4K UHDTV, why would you want to purchase a system which isn't even capable of running games at that resolution in all its glory? before anyone brings up the point about hardware accelerated ray tracing, if someone is purchasing a low end system it is unlikely they're going to even care about things like that, and again at what price? you're still stuck at 1080p or 1440p at most.
My reasoning is, if you can't afford to upgrade properly, then you may as well not do it at all.
My advise is save your money until you can afford to take the plunge, or you'd be missing out on truly next gen features and be lumbered with a weaker system which in the end (in the later life of the system) won't even be able to run the newer games at the advertised resolution natively, it's false economy.
