I made a generator that files the wither into the middle of a 3x3 cobble cube. causing him to momentarily suffocate and take damage.

when this happens he explodes causing all the cobble around him to break, and this mechanic has been conveniently turned into a way

for us to harvest cobble automatically in our vanilla server.. however I just read the update notes for 1.8.1, and it says in there

"Withers trapped in a barrier box attacks barriers, killing it"

I'm wondering if this will change the dynamic of my machine at all.

I need this machine badly, and would be very sad if this killed my wither.. is this what it means? that it will kill my wither?

I just need this patch note explained to me. sorry for the potentially noob question.

I'm pretty sure that means the actually barrier block not a barrier surrounding it i think you should be fine but i would make the generator in a creative world in 1.8.1 and see if it works

That machine is amazing!

Barriers are invisible blocks only avalible by commands. If you have not used any /give commands then you should be fine
