Training sounds kinda nerve racking. I mean, is it like a chat with mics or with typing? My laptop mic is horrible so I'm kinda hoping for the typing side. And how long is training? Because I'm sure it isn't that hard since i watched some moderators in some sections and it seems ridiculously easy. Find a bad thread and lock it, or delete a certain post or even the thread. I'm sure moderators do more than that because if not, whats the point of training?

I think for the most part training is that you read policy and suggested ways to handle a situation, you ask your admin questions. They give you a report to handle and if they feel you handle it well, you're done with training. Although you may not know the answer to every situation possible that is what you have an admin for and he/she will always be available for questions/ advice and training.
unfortunately I can't so I had to be constantly polling the servers (and the requests can't be cached because I had to be logged in) so I was effectively doubling the amount of uncached requests the forum gets...
Ouch! I can see how that would be a problem...You're almost creating your own DoS attack...Who knows maybe at some point in the future...
Piratebay is speaking for himself, he would frequently refuse excellent candidates because he has a stick in his butt. There's a reason why he is no longer an administrator. The other admins don't have sticks in their butts
So maybe that explains why I was denied lmao.
Did he retire, or was he like actually kicked off the staff?
I'm just curious. I've been gone for a few weeks due to just being busy, so I'm a bit out of date of what's been going on here.
Is it possible to lose your moderator title?
And what happens if you're a moderator and you are no longer active on the forums?
it's volunteer so if you can not be active all you have to do is let someone know and they'll retire you, no big deal. The Admins have mentioned several times that they can understand RL situations and that should take precedence over forum activity. They would like for you to be active as much as is reasonable for you though.
I applied, My age is 14 but on my account it says 16. I thought i had to be a bit older so i faked my birthday a bit. If you guys want you can fix its year to 1997 or just leave it.
Did anyone else get something like that? I think my posts are pretty good...
Citric did say that Piratebay denied some good candidates for no real reason, so I would say go ahead an re-apply.
Best of luck to you.
Part of what Citric said:
Piratebay (as an administrator) would frequently pass on candidates, he hired 1 person when everyone else was hiring ~10. Hiring new moderators takes time (for training and helping them learn) so 10 is a good number to hire in a month. Piratebay hired that mod because a sec mod shouted at him to do it.
A bit of both. I mainly check you're posting in my section, but also that you aren't problematic in other sections too.
I did not apply for your section but i think if my admin uses something similar i should be in good shape this time around. I have been posting in the section for which i applied A LOT...annnndddd i'm not problematic in any section ;P lol. I just hope it's all good enough.
As MultiDarkShadow7 said, post count does not matter. I was hired when I had about ~300 posts and some other moderators had under 100 posts when they were hired. What matters is the quality of your posts.
Quality > Quantity.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Please report posts that do not abide by the rules, it's quick and easy!

That kinda makes me feel better. I like to imagine my posts are pretty decent quality...
(Sorry if this is a double-post. I tried to post it before, but it bugged out a bit.)

Anyone? Lol.
Here's the exact quote of what he said in the PM where I asked him why I was denied:
I'm not really sure why he couldn't go into specifics lol. I've just always been curious. I know he's the one that denied it, so...

Yah I'll definetly go ahead with re-applying then.
