Is there any way for a person's reputation points to lower? (Other than the post where rep up was given being deleted.)
I find that it's quite strange how the max reputation rank is Excellent at 20, and cannot go down from there.
Why is there a thumbs up but no thumbs down? I know some times when I most definitely want to thumbs someone down.
I was going to make a long post, but Hazali covered all of the points I would've made in a lot more detail.
+rep = I agree with this post and have nothing to add to it, so rather than making a pointless post (This, +1, etc), we give you the ability to +1 the post.
-rep = everything Hazali said.

I see what you mean. I recently received a rather patronizing message from a server owner after apologetically explaining that I would not join his server and why. He seemed to go out of his way to imply that I am, how do I say this, picky and stubborn, although to a higher degree than these two words imply I would say. I see the potential for abuse by down voting, such as on YouTube for example, as occasionally happens on that site. However, providing an anonymous way to let others know that someone has committed transgressions would be nice. We can obviously report people, but that doesn't really let others know that a person has done something undesirable before. Such a system as this would have to be abuse proof too though. Perhaps an optimal solution is that after reading user submitted reports, staff members can lower the reported user's reputation or leave something marking them as having caused problems before for all to see, should they determine it necessary. (There would obviously have to be more details than that, but I don't have the time to think of them all.) Hopefully this would be less capable of being abused. However, this would mean more labor, and therefore more money, is also required. On a last note, if anything I talked about or suggested already exists or contradicts something about the forums/forum policy, please let me know. I'm by no means a MineCraft forums expert like current and former staff are. Add anything you think an optimal solution would need too please; I just came up with this off the top of my head and haven't put much thought into it. Sorry for the long post too by the way. Hopefully Curse can come up with an optimal solution that assures trouble makers, etc. don't go unnoticed or get away with things. (:

Reason's pretty obvious: someone out there will abuse it.
For clarification, some will create many accounts and attack members with -10 rep on many of their posts, which could hurt them.
more of the fact, that someone will just down rep every post. Also since we are all "friends" here, we have to be nice

Better idea: do it like Reddit, where you have a "score" for your posts, and up/down-votes can make it get higher or lower.
