Ok, I've been a member of these forums for at least 3 days, I've read the rules and everything, but there is just one thing.
It says in the rules that since this is a family friendly forum, that all posts including profanity ( that goes for swearing too) is deleted, yet I see people slapping swear on their posts, and the posts are still there?
Is there any reason that these posts are there for the world to see??? I mean for pete's sake man, there are kids on this site!
Use the report system to report any posts containing material that is against the rules.
The moderators are not gods, they can't see everything, it is up to us, the members, to point out things like this.
The report button is next to the quote buttons.

Your friendly neighborhood dragon. Don't be scared, I won't bite!
I am here for you, Don't be afraid to send me a message.
Swear words are automatically removed by the profanity filter.
If you see a post where they bypassed the filter or used something like stars to "bleep out" part of the swear word, please report the post using the report button on it.

Eeeooo... Most of them anyway. '>_> There are some words that are not automatically removed because they would mess up other words as well.
Anyway, yes, if you see anyone using profanity then please report it.
Or as John said earlier, the filter is bypassed, either intentionally (bleeping out) or spelling the word differently, doubling up letters, stuff like that.

Indeed. But that was not what I addressed. We do not star profanity or anything like that. It is blatantly removed and replaced by a space. If it is not then it's evasion of some sort even if correctly spelt.
There are also the posts that were made before the profanity filter that contain some swears, in those posts the profanity remains (until reported and taken care of). Back then profanity was allowed. However now, if you see any of those posts feel free to report those too for a moderator to take care of
Weird, this forum is really acting up. I posted this earlier, but it seems to have disappeared. I'll post it again.

Any particular reason my post was removed from this thread?
I realize by now that this entire site is just a garbage dump / runoff pit / whatever you want to call it, but sometimes I still like to play along and join in on a thread. Anyone care to comment on why my posts are being censored?
Funny thing about censorship... the more you do it, the more of it you'll need to do. It's a vicious cycle...

There were some replies and stuff too, which seem to have fallen victim to this strange forum bug. I'll post them here.
I don't understand what you mean please expand on this?
You know those little ponds they build near parking lots? They build those so when it rains, all that water has somewhere to go. The parking lot is directly useful to you, you can park your car in it. The retention pond isn't really useful to you, it's just there to catch runoff. If Minecraft is the parking lot, this site is the retention pond. It's not pretty, nobody really wants to look at it. It's just there to collect waste.

I disagree with you, I enjoy reading the forums and just because someone says something I don't like doesn't mean I get offended.

I'm not offended, I'm just calling it like I see it. Is there some useful stuff here? Sure. Is it ridiculously outweighed by complete garbage? Yes. Does plenty of garbage get sent this way that people don't want elsewhere? Yep.

If you have a question about a post being removed, bring it up with the Admins of this section.
Or if you recieved an infraction from it, bring it up with whoever gave you the infraction.
Use the contact administration section.
This is a lot quicker and efficient than bumping an old thread and hoping for a response.

Are you cereal right now bro? Or is this satirical in nature? If you are serious then out of curiosity I wonder what section you saw this profanity in and what profanity you speak of? If you don't mind me asking that is.
(You don't have to say the words you saw, just give me an idear of what they were)

Regardless of what section it's posted in, there is a 100% chance of there being a minor in that section, so it doesn't make a difference.
Profane words are automatically erased from the post. Like if you were to type a swear word and posted, it'd become a blank space. If you use any sort of icon like an asterisk to evade the filter, it's a rule violation. If you see any posts with profanity filter evasion in it, you should report it. The mods can't see everything.

someone agrees with the choices made by the administration here to make the site better?! well they must be employing satire because lord knows it's impossible for something to be done that is good when it disagrees with your view of the world!!
I didn't mean it that way, sorry if it came across like that. I mean was he serious that he sees profanity everywhere because I never see it outside of the politics news and philosophy section inside conversations that most kids would have no real knowledge of or interest in. And even then it's only the, what, two words which can barely be considered profanity which aren't in the filter because it would infringe on other words too much. So I didn't mean to ask if his entire post was a joke, I was just wondering if he was seriously saying he saw "profanity" outside of that section which is why I asked which section he saw it in. I wasn't debating the rule, just wondered where he saw it.
This topic was not and is not going to be used to discuss why it is in place or argue the point of it.
Since it is clear the topic has driven away from why posts were not being removed to discussing why the filter is here and thus spawning arguments that are off-topic, there is no longer a need for this topic to remain open.

Good, then I've made my point. If you hadn't deleted my initial post, you wouldn't have had all this garbage (was it 4 or 5 posts?) to clean up.
I'm willing to look awkward in order to prove a point, not a problem. I fail to see the humor in this, though.
