A couple months ago I posted a thread asking if anyone's ripped the tutorial map from the Xbox version using a hacked 360. I received a warning for that from a moderator, saying it's against Microsoft's ToS and that I wasn't supposed to post it. I sent him a PM asking for more information on why, but he hasn't responded. Do the Minecraft forums really prohibit talking about something just because Microsoft has a problem with it?

Why is that? I get Mojang, but why Microsoft? What harm does it do to Curse if people are talking about hacked 360s?
Also, Microsoft's ToS isn't the law. Just because something is against Microsoft's rules doesn't make it "illegal activity".
4J Studios use this forum to communicate with members, if we don't abide by the terms that 4J are bound by then it may result in 4J pulling out from their mcf usage, usage that provides great value to members.
Microsoft have their restrictions for a reason, we must respect those restrictions if we want this forum to be recognised by them.

Oh okay, that makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up! +1

I think there just needs to be another place outside of mcf.net for technical discussion, simple as that. There's way too much confusion about what things are okay to discuss and what things are not, and regulars here seem to have very flexible and unusual definitions of "illegal," as in the second post.
As frustrating as it is, at this point I've seen enough to realize it's basically a joke. It's never going to get better here, it's only going to get worse. I'm not even going to bother pointing it out anymore... it's just not worth it. It would be easier just to throw an IPB online somewhere else and let people use that for technical discussion.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but they still haven't provided a list of banned swear words, which goes along with what you say.
You need to be specific in what we can and cannot discuss/talk about/say/etc, staff.

Neckbeards! Doctor Cichocki does not approve of stupidity and neither do I, stop the spread of damned useless rules!
The rules specifically state "Profanity" that seems like a pretty universal term to me.
Different people have differing views on what is considered profane language.
Some people consider "damn" swearing yet I use it all the time here without penalty.
The rules page has every single thing you need to know, and describes them quite "specifically" as you stated.
Remind me how this could be anywhere near specific:
Quote from MCF Rules Page »
As a family friendly forum we censor all profanity, however the censor is not an excuse to still swear; all posts that contain any instance of profanity will be removed.
Firstly you don't automatically delete profane posts anymore, we have the filter instead.
And we can still swear, it's just censored out by the filter.
It says that in what you quoted

I don't have an XBox but I'm pretty sure you've answered your own question.
No, that's not what they were asking. And it was just an informal warning

This is what I read from the OP:
"A couple months ago I posted a thread asking if anyone's ripped the tutorial map from the Xbox version using a hacked 360."
He is just asking if anyone had DONE it, not if he can have a copy.
As previously stated, that wasn't what the topic said.
What DID the topic actually say?

There. Problem solved. Legally.

It's not even up to date.
What's out of date there?
