Well its simple really, I just want to know how to apply to be an off-topic moderator. I know i'm new to the forums but i'm not new to minecraft and i'm definitely capable of moderating the forum. I want to be an off-topic moderator because there are way too little and I think It would be helpful to have more.
To be honest I don,t think having much knowledge of minecraft has much impact on how good you'd be as a moderator :3
As Skypiercer said, you can apply to become one here :3
Simply create a new discussion type thingy with your application in it :3

Do not wallow do not stall
Time waits for none at all
Your allowance may crawl,
It may fly or even vanish
But none will seem more lavished
Than time lost to all.
I'm not sure why everyone is scrambling for the opportunity to be a moderator. Sure when I first though about it, it seems great power, respect(possibly), ability to get rid of those ****ing spam bots... Then thinking again, "Wait... I actually have to be mature on the internet?! I would have represent the staff so no more idiotic/immature/Off topic/spammy posts?! Not to mention the moderator's other duties. Eh...naw, I'm quite fine being regular user." I can report posts and enlighten people to any major errors just fine as is and that is enough for me.

You make a good point, I like to post more and moderators I don't think get to make those random posts. Its a hard choice because I feel there is too little Off-Topic moderators. But now that I think, someone else can get chosen for that. I dont have to and its not like they can make me so... yeah. Tough choice :tongue.gif:
I'm not sure if your serious or not, but I don't think so. All staff members are (as far as I know) volunteers.
Not quite true. The very top level staff (citricsquid, etc.) are paid by Curse now. All the rest are unpaid volunteers.
Which is why I haven't applied to be a mod myself. I'd want a paycheck for that kind of work. My wife though has been trying to convince me that having it on my resume would be payment enough but I'm not sure...

Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
Being paid for something you do on your free time would be too good to be true :3

Off topic post: Pah, I'd probably be embarrassed as hell if I applied for a job and mentioned that I moderated on the Minecraft forums. I'm personally in it for the helping people out, I like the feeling when somebody says thanks! (Is that strange?)
Sorry for the off topicishness of this post, if there's something that I want to say I either wait for somebody to bump the topic or send it via PM, not sure why I didn't :/

Yeah thats why I want to do it, I don't want money, just to keep the community clean.
Your friend, scruffee

Obviously there are exceptions, but it's unlikely that asking for power, without a well thought out and reasonable explanation will get you a position

I contacted a moderator, it seems they ended. This topic is basically dead now soooo hopefully I will be picked eventually

That's what I did, and look where I am now.
Retired and loving it.
Sounds good to me :biggrin.gif:
