I would be in favor of removing the "Posts : X" (aka post count) from all user (or simply keeping it hidden, only visible to admins / moderators). It serves no purpose aside of boosting the pretty vain e-peen of some users for no particular reason. Same thing with the silly rank system ("coal miner", "gold miner", etc). It kinda promote spam.
Plus it may help (ever so slightly) the response time of the forum.

I don't think we've had any problems stemming from the post count being displayed. I don't really see the point in hiding it...
The only point would be hiding it from people thinking that higher post count = being better and smarter.
It did happen. *cough cough*
I noted your little "cough cough" there. I never said my post count makes me smarter, that's just illogical. Better? No not really, perhaps it would be advantageous in certain situations. For example, you could trust links that I post etc.
Ok, maybe the "problem" isn't much of a problem here in this forum, after all.
I suggested this because, believe it of not, i was a user of a much more active forum (name non-disclosed) who had this problem of spam abuse for this stupid post count which gave higher rank (although i didn't participate in it). It was solved with this solution, and everything went well afterward.
I just felt like i could have helped preventing such idiocy from happening here, since, you know, minecraft community is growing by the minute. If we're lucky, maturity will stay at an appropriate level *cough cough* and we won't have to care about this ever.

If it aint broken, don't fix it. It's always been there, why change it now? People might brag or show off sure, but if anything goes off of the roof the staff should handle it.

This would be good.
Also, I'm not a fan of Karma systems. I personally don't use them when they're available.

It's not a problem, why revoke it?
