What it sounds like is happening is that your post is triggering Cloudflare's security (which looks at the contents and would stop posts if it thinks it's bad). It's... not a great system, and is just trial and error to find what triggers it.
Chances are it's the same thing. Could you link the thread as well though just to double check?

The sysadmins had a look, and they only saw you really being blocked from posting, so this is unique to you.
Profiles are being a higher security setting, because they generate heavier calls. Visiting too many of them too fast results in some blocks.
Their suggestion is to start with clearing your cookies for the site and logging back in.
I'm wondering if it is possible to know exactly what caused this post to trigger the filter, as this is the first time I had issues since I last posted here (as before I got around it by opening a profile to trigger the security check page, so this was not modified in any way to get around it):
It does include several links to posts on the forums, Reddit, Mojang's bug tracker, and the Wiki, so they might be the issue (also, why does the Wiki bring up the "link warning" redirect? It should be considered a "safe" site).

Actually the problem even extends to changing my avatar. Out of habit I view my own profile to see how it looks to other people when I come online, so I can change details as needed and then reference them in my posts if I want. If I don't view my or anyone's profile, I can't change my avatar.

I was one of the ones having this issue back then, a total of twice I think (?), but I haven't seen it since. Things have been fine for weeks now (or possibly a month) so I sort of hoped it was gone. It seems others are having it again though so if I happen to across it again too, I'll try and remember this thread exists.
