I think it's time for Minecraft Forum to have their own dedicated Sever/Realm.
I know It would need a dedicated Admin Team to manage the Servers but I'm sure you could find many willing volunteers from this site.
I want this Forum to give a little back to those who have contributed to this Forum for over the last 10 years.
One - Minecraft Forum Java Server.
One - Minecraft Forum Bedrock Realm.
All the best.
Lol yeah somehow this isn't going to happen.
> Dwindling staff count
> Most users are inconsistent in activity, so no volunteers
> Huge server populace possible, but barely any activity also possible
> Who is going to host all that, all the time?
> How moderable is such a varied community?
Also this is a meta suggestion and should go in the forum suggestions not in here.

Bit of a wild and random suggestion perhaps but hey...
Volunteers dont necessarily need to be current members, Hosts could affiliate themselves with "Minecraft Forum"
Also Members like you would be advantageous but like I stated in the title, it would take "Dedication" Not easy to find but why not throw the concept out there.
Wouldn't make a difference unless our say influenced the future development of the game, but it is apparent Mojang have no interest in this forum nor is this affiliated with Mojang in any way.
For the life of me I can't figure out why dedicated servers aren't officially supported on bedrock edition on Xbox, PS4 and Switch.
Even with Microsoft wanting people to subscribe to their realms service to add income for them, they could have charged for their dedicated server software separately to make up the difference, it wouldn't be the same amount of money but it would still be extra money for the company and their staff.
There exists DNS exploits to get around this, but people have consistently complained about Mojang patching this which is the wrong way to go about the problem as all they're doing is giving people more reasons to dislike them or not buy/support their products.

Unfortunately, Mojang has decided that only Servers with Marketplace are allowed... Console Players are being ripped off with a Mobil version of the Game, all the limitations placed on XBOX & PS are by design.

The microtransactions would still be possible to do even with allowing custom servers on Switch, PS4 and Xbox officially. I do know of some DNS services where the workaround still works but those are going to fade away unless there is enough pushback from the community to encourage Mojang to reconsider their actions.
For the time being the one I know of which still works has allowed a friend on his Xbox to join my home server, and it's a stopgap solution until he can afford to buy his own Windows PC. It is inevitable the DNS trick will get blocked in future, as Microsoft's stinginess makes them no better than Apple.
The DNS solution has never worked for me and I wont entertain the "bedrocktogether" app...
Its just a crazy unsafe workaround that Mojang has created for Console users, I can use Windows on my laptop plugged into my TV but the only problem is you cant use the Text Chat function with the Joypad for some reason. I have to put my joypad down and type on the Laptop every time I need to chat, I dont use a Mic so this is a big hassle to put up with.
Microtransaction with Marketplace is killing Minecraft and it will do the same to Java, eventually.

We shouldn't even need a third party app to do it on our phones either, bedrock edition of the game on PC has an "Add server" option and has had this feature for as long as I remembering it having the so called Better Together update.
But it is also false advertising when they have nonsense limitations like this on console players, being able to play with friends on consoles is conditional as it would seem as players need to use either realms or the free multiplayer option on the client app on the consoles, that being the only clause that would save them from losing a lawsuit about this.
The DNS workaround while it works for some people, the sites providing information about them also put up disclaimers warning people that this could be patched or blocked at any time in the near future.

I've just found another way now for the PC... It's called: "Phantom Windows"
You download: Phantom Windows exe into downloads then use your "Command prompt"
Type: cd downloads then press enter.
then type: "phantom-windows.exe" and put in the hosts IP then the Port number.
EG, phantom-windows.exe 00.000.000.00:25555
you have to leave the command prompt open while you play.
This then pings it to the Host somehow... you could ask the host for info if you want to know more: he's called: shackfu, a member of this board.
