I've started to see several posts with [*img] pics from youtube, but that have links like h^^ps://shorturl.at/abcD1 [this is a made=up link] which makes me leery of following the link as such can disguise malicious links.
Should these posts be reported? If so, under what catagory?

Report those as spam and we will look into them. Monetary links/link shorteners are only allowed for legitimate downloads for specific sections (such as maps, mods, or resource packs). They aren't allowed for things like images or videos.
