If you are on the desktop version of the website, there is an "Upload an Image" section below the box for entering in a post and you can either click the button and select an image or drag an image from your computer to the area labeled "Drop image to upload."
However, most people use 3rd party sites like https://imgur.com/ to host the image, and then post a link to the image within your post. When you post a direct link to an image file from a website, the forum generally automatically embeds the image into the post like so:
This is the easiest way to get a picture within a specific part of your page, as using the option built into the forum always just places the picture below your post.

In addition, once you've uploaded your picture as an attachment, you can then go back and open your attachment in a new tab. Then, use the picture url in your address bar for "insert image." Am I missing something here? Is there an easy way to just upload pictures?
