that doesnt consider the costs of running the site, and really i wouldnt be surprised if thousands of dollars is practically nothing in comparison
I looked around and it appears that you can easily pay less than that per month, or even year, to run a forum, and while costs increase with more users so does the potential ad revenue:

Note that Curse/Fandom then decided to close the forums altogether, but they got saved. As I write, Magic Find has not made their presence known, but apparently the forums will continue despite. Hopefully, they might even have gotten/kept the archived posts, and perhaps can do a better job of contacting the original posters.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
This is not something we have forgotten about. With the closing and then "reopening" of the forum we've not had time to look at this issue. Right now the focus is transitioning owners and things on the backend of the website which I'm not personally apart of/have much knowledge on so I can't really say much.
So....This could be stupid, and my searching skills may be failing, but Buildcraft seems to be missing. Buildcraft has the MIT license. When a person gives an MIT license, their name is attached, and they give consent for that name and anything that they contribute to the project to continue to be attached unless explicitly retracted. I know that the system likely just removes all posts and threads by a person if they don't respond, but Buildcraft is not one person's child. That info is public domain.

I don't cheat; I just conveniently write the rules.
If you're not very good at English, there is probably a Japanese Minecraft forum where you can more easily get help.
Or perhaps you could get someone else to help you out.
That being said, this is not the right forum thread for support questions.
And this log fragment gives no information on why you are experiencing crashes.

According to a mod developer, some people external to the forum have made full backups of the site. It's unclear when the backups were made, and if/when they will be made public. But there is at least some hope that the history will be preserved where the official source has failed.
do you know who made these backups? Is there any news on whether or not they are planning to make these backups public?
my forum was deleted.. it was the only place where i had my parkour map! yay! prestonplayz played it, it was called 4 boxes of parkour and now the only people who have it is the people who downloaded it and i can't contact them

For all of you out there with deleted threads: You can maybe still read them!
If you still have the url to your thread (e.g. an old bookmark or even a link in your signature) you can still go there. Most likely you will find all Posts "deleted". But if you disable javascript for minecraftforum.net the deleted posts reappear. You can use e.g. the NoScript Addon for firefox. You can't write any new posts like that but maybe save some valuable contents.
I found this because my thread is gone too... I've been away for a few years but recently got back into modding. I would like so much to continue this thread:
If restoring all my posts would be too much of an effort (though I think it should be only around a few dozen at most, and I only care about this singe thread), just restoring the thread and the opening post would help me out a lot! I hardly dare to ask, but maybe... Could you? ... That would be sooo amazing!

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
this website is part of a company and they dont just have to pay to keep the servers running, but they have to pay the staff too
citricsquid said how much he makes once, and while im not going to share that it does make it clear to me that thousands a day probably is not enough
I never said that any of these people who are dedicated to the forums actually existed.

Sorry, not eating any words.

We are looking into ways, but please bear with us as we continue to find a solution. We are hoping to provide better support moving forward.

Oops, did I steal your mod? Well, I'm lazy, so if I found the motivation to do so, you did something wrong as a developer.
