This should not happen, when this occurs it's usually because of malware on your computer that is injecting advertisements into the websites you're visiting. This malware could be computer wide, or specific to your browser. The best way to identify if there is malware in your browser extensions is to disable them one by one and see if the advert disappears. If the adverts continue to show even after turning off all of your browser extensions and scanning your computer please let me know and I'll get in touch with our advertisement team to identify if it is coming from our system.
Well, I do know that other people have noticed this too. This was the first time I saw it, but I know of another user who has seen this multiple times.
(It's not that it's a permanent thing that's always in the reply box, so checking if one of my extensions is at fault is not an easy task.)
Thank you for providing more information, based on information from the advertisement team I think that this is an issue at our end and not yours. To help us identify what the cause of this is could you let me know what browser you use and what (if any) browser extensions you have installed that are designed to interfere with adverts? For example AdBlock, uBlock, AdBlock Plus etc.

I use Chrome, and use both Adblock and Adblock Plus. Along with the 'Stop Mod Reposts' plugin but I don't know if it affects this kind of stuff.
This image pretty much explains this strange phenomenon:
Why does this even happen? I don't think anyone would've determined that the reply box is the best place to place ads.
