If you have any actual plans to do this, you'd want to ask Curse for permission, and you'd have to adhere strictly to what they want. Someone else made an app that served their own ads rather than ours, and it got DMCAd. Their site, their rules.
well, I didn't plan to serve any ads as I don't plan to make any profits from it (I doubt it'll pay much anyway so no point to bother with ads and stuff). Do I still need Curse's permission if I'm not planning to profit from it?

Yes you would, also if you do make one, make sure it looks good, there is nothing worse then a crappy app. If your only an amateur and don't have a ton of experience I would not do it

already sent em an email asking their permission. Lets hope it goes well
And yes, I am willing to create a quality app. No point creating a crappy one coz nobody will use it
I doubt curse would allow it as a full app would need access to curses login system so users can post replys/threads, and they would not give access to that to a none curse app
This is totally my own opinion so please ignore the fact i an a forum moderator, in this matter i have no knowledge of how curse would answer.
I was thinking of that as well, the odds are they wont, or he will make the app and they will run it, just depends
You can just go on the internet browser built in your smart phone can you not? I still think the app is a good idea, but curse would probably make one themselves :P, if they got a lot of requests saying to make a mobile mc forums app of course :P, and since your an android dev. then what about other companies like Apple? and Amazon.

Hello!
I've been reading these forums for quite some time and I can't find an android app for it so I can't read it conveniently on my smartphone
Being an android app developer I can take some time and make a free app if there's a demand for it
What do you guys think?

I feel I'm the only one that can still sort of use MCForums on my phone. I find the text scales pretty well when reading threads.

It is REALLy buggy on phones, trust me
I feel that if it were going to be on a phone, it would be unpractical, and slow.

Did you get that permission yet? I was thinking of creating one myself, too.
