Karte Academy is a specialist high school. In other words, a school that focuses on a certain type of education. Examples of this would be music schools, art schools, and fitness school. But this school is none of the above.
Karte Academy is a high school for superhumans.
Maybe that's why it is so private and secluded. And with all things dealing with superpowers, Karte Academy has an interesting history.
Let's delve into it, shall we?
Around 1980, a book was written by Stephen King called Firestarter. Stephen had written this book upon the story an old women had told him one day. And both Stephen and the population regarded the book as a fairytail. Until Rewop Academy.
In the U.S., an academy was made for superpowers in the 2000s, by the government, for people with superpowers. In this academy, scientists ruled over, trying to turn the students into supersoldiers. This academy was known as Rewop Academy. This Academy didn't work very well, as the scientists had so little control over the school that the school eventually destroyed itself. I mean, the scientists did tell the students to use their powers...
Immediately, the connection was made, and the facts were checked - these students were relatives to the survivers of the experiments by the Shop!
After the fall of Rewop in 2004, superhumans started to become rather unruly. They openly displayed their powers, and some even tried to control the population. These superhumans didn't understand just how powerful humans were, and most were killed off. The only superheros left in the world were the ones who hid or didn't display their powers.
And that's were you come in.
You are a son or daughter of one of these superheroes.
But back to the Academy.
Karte Academy was developed as soon as the superhumans had been killed. It was made to model the basis of Rewop Academy - to teach superhumans. Except this one was lead by superheroes and people who actually cared for the students. These superheroes went on to test the system with their children, and the system kept changing. At first, they had the school be mainly open fights between students - which for obvious reasons, quickly failed to be effective without killing many students. They tried the opposite - teaching powers like a normal school. While this worked, the students really didn't pay attention, and when put to the test in the real world, very little actually remembered what to do. Lastly, they tried combining the two - having the students learn through guided experimentation. This worked the best of anything previously tried! That would be the system! They slapped some classes together, sent emails to the other known superhumans, who quietly spread the word of the place. Everyone knew that the place would be open in one year.
One year passed. Today, Karte Academy is open.
Are you ready for the excitement and surprises that await?

And here we go!
Name: Jeff Miller
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Jeff is a tall man, standing at an imposing height of six foot three. His eyes are a deep blue and stare out from a rugged face covered in scars. His hair is long and dirty blonde, hanging around his shoulders and the back of his head. His body is tough but lean, and he can run at an above-average speed; certainly not superhuman, but still faster than you would expect. He usually wears a light-gray sweatshirt from his old school, with blue jeans and heavy black steel-toed hiking boots. He also wears an old western cowboy hat he was given by his grandfather, and the had is one of his most valued possessions.
Skills: He has an adept mechanical knowledge, but is, again, not supernaturally good at machinery. He can design some decent weaponry, machinery, and build software that is on par with some good human coders, but can't do anything supernatural with that. He can use a butterfly knife, but isn't great with it. He can flip it open and closed and do some cool things with it, but nothing that implies supernatural dexterity, even though he never drops it. He can also play chess better than anyone you've ever seen.
Powers: Jeff two unique abilities.
The first among these is the ability to travel back into his own past. This allows him several advantages. He can get advice from himself as he once was and hand it back to himself, he can create the illusion that multiple of him exist by going back, staying for a few minutes, and then repeating this process.
The second is an ability to see where his actions take him. He can see down the chain of events created by making any decision, and then move between the realities in which those decisions are made. He can move an infinite number of decisions away from himself, allowing him to travel to places nothing like our reality. Places where the South won the Civil War, where the British won the Revolutionary War, and where the Germans won the World Wars. He usually sticks to the main reality, but can escape to others. Interestingly enough, he's found that no other realities containing him involving decisions made before his birth have instances of him with this ability. The other ability, yes, but none have that one unique ability.
Personality:Dark, brooding, and occasionally suicidal at worst. Humorous, adventurous, and rational at best.
Background: Jeff was born in (assuming this takes place in modern day) 1998 as the first child to a family living in Detroit. His father was a factory worker assembling car parts, his mother worked at a fast-food chain. He stayed at a daycare in his younger years and in the extracurricular activities after school when he got older. He played chess and got pretty good, and could beat everyone at his school (Not that there was much of a contest). His teacher recommended he play chess against other schools in a tournament, but his parents worked and couldn't bring him to the tournaments. When he complained, his father beat him. He lost interest in playing chess after that, which the teacher found suspicious, given Jeff's previous interest in the game. He still played and beat everyone in school, but he never had interest in competing in tournaments outside the school. He had no idea he was in any way supernatural, until the first day in sixth grade. He was excited to go to a new school after so long in his old one and to meet new people. He made sure the first thing he did was sign up for the chess, math, and creative writing clubs.
Well, that got him all the attention he didn't need.
Towards the end of the day, three seventh graders cornered him, assuming ineptly that he would be an easy target. One of them threw a punch at his face.
Before Jeff, the world split. He could see two worlds right before him; the fist hitting his face and the fist hitting his locker. He was frightened as hell and looked at the reality in which he wasn't punched in the face; as any sane human would do.
The kid yelled in pain and called Jeff a minor stab wound, which is exactly when another kid came at him.
The world split again.
The seventh-grader hit the floor with his arms outstretched, shocked by the kid's dexterity.
Of course, none of that actually happened.
As Jeff ran, something in his mind clicked and he saw himself walking down the hallway towards the ambush. He ran up to himself and said "Don't go down there" before disappearing. Now as you might imagine, Jeff took his own advice but was scared as hell, and when he saw the seventh-graders come out of the principal's office later that day for beating up some other kid who'd also signed up for the same three classes, he realized that he was not normal, in his own words. He spent the next several years experimenting with these abilities and getting perfect grades on every single one of his tests, as he could go back and tell himself what the answers were. He would just intentionally do poorly, go back and give himself a cheat sheet, and then get a perfect grade. He had it made. He got a scholarship to a college, before Karte Academy reached out to him. They told him that they realized he was 'special' and that he had a paid scholarship to their school. His parents, of course, thought it was an excellent idea, and sent him off to it, no longer having to deal with him. Before he left, he went to visit his grandfather, who gave him the hat and told him to be wary. He himself had been to a similar school when he was younger, and a friend of his, a boy named Kenny, had died at the school. Roger left his parent's suitcase behind; it was full of things he didn't care about and clothes that didn't fit him.
Finally.
He could do something new.
((Yeah, not the best I've ever written, but whatever. If you think it's terrible I'll redo it.))
Equipment: He comes with only the clothes on his back and the hat on his head which may or may not contain controlled substances. You can't prove that he has them, you can't prove that he doesn't.
Other:
Period 1: English Comp & Lit II. (Can't access the website, going to use the course catalog for my school, which should be similar enough.)
Period 2: Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. One of the classes he can get through without cheating; although he can't help but boost anything below A-.
Period 3: Computer Science II.
Period 4-6: Experimentation.
Period 5: American Government.
Period 6: World History.
Period 7: Creative Writing.
Period 8: Chemistry.
Period 9: Graphic Design.
Period 9: Physics. He takes both by looping back time after graphic design. In effectivity, he has roughly 12 hours of classes each day, crammed into nine hours (Assuming each class is fifty minutes long with ten minutes to get between classes).

((SD...I don't know. Time travel is a bit...iffy. I really am having trouble accepted your character. Do you know any way yo maybe make it weaker or change it? It just seems like I would have to have everything in the future and past planned out for your character to work, and your character could never be injured or killed or...you see what I mean? It just creates issues...
George, I love the comedy you put into your app, but I hope you understand that, due to your power and lack of one, the class you choose is going to be hilarious. "Lift this 7,000 pound truck" "But...but I can't.." "Sure you can"
Really the physical classes are near impossible for people without those kind of powers, because it is meant to stretch the limit of superhuman capabilities. Kinda like gym is meant to do the same for human capabilities. You know what I mean?))
Also, I didn't mention this before, but George, can you make your classes more specific rather than just "math"? Like, what kind of math? Scarf gave a link, and just pick something of the appropriate level from the list. ))
((Think of it like this. His powers allow him to get a leg up on a normal person, but he won't be able to hurt you any easier. If he throws a punch at you, he can't choose between it hitting you and it missing. It's still gonna miss if you're fast enough, and it's possible to throw him into a place he can't deal with.))
((As far as time travel, I think it's probably best if he's confined to places he's seen or been. That way he can't just throw around reality like a baseball.))

((No, even Physical 1 is much higher than gym 4.
Normally I would put an advertisement for a game that doesn't exist or a stupid sign telling you you've got a virus.
Not today.
If you are a citizen of the United States, or anyone who is involved in any way with the United States, I urge you to watch this video. Your government has a serious problem.

((Yeah. I actually think segregating everyone into different classes is going to severely damage the longevity of the RP. If everyone's off doing their own thing all the time, then no plot is moving and nothing is getting done.))

((True...okay, ya, I think I like the classes being generic more.
SD, I guess that's fine...just be careful.))
((That doesn't really make much sense. It would require everyone to have a class like biology (which none of us have.) It'd make more sense if you found the school.))

((I agree with SD. Not a bad idea, just doesn't make sense.))
