The tavern is musty, the roof low, the smoke from various torches and hearths curling around your feet. As you slam the door closed behind you, a couple people glance at you, assess you, then look away. You make your way slowly towards the counter and the barman, looking to quench your needy thirst from your long ride. The barman turns toward you as you set yourself down on one of the many old stools lining the counter.
"What 'an I git for yah, sonny?" The barman taps a knuckle of his left hand on a large beer keg behind you. "Beer, wine, water? Best in town, Eiy have."
You untie the cord that pulls tight your money bag, pull out a bronze coin, and set it down on the counter.
"Just a beer, if you would," Your voice sounds weak to you, as if you hadn't used it in a long time. Which you hadn't.
While waiting for your beer, you look around the tavern, appraising all the people inside it. Guards, craftsmen, workers, and probably a few criminals as well. As your gaze passes over one corner of the room, it stops. You could be looking at much more interesting things, sure, like that foolhardy man balancing a sharpened sword right below his nose, or the angry and loud argument between two men, but something about the old man sitting all by his lonesome in the corner of the room, a hood around his neck, catches your attention somehow. You feel drawn to him, by a feeling you have only experienced one before: Right before you set out on this blind trek, the feeling that motivated you to set out on this blind trek.
Rising from your seat, you make your way toward him, and it seems as if it takes forever, as if you walking toward the old man is an action of such importance that it must be done slowly. Finally, you seat yourself on a chair across from him, and he stares straight at you.
Instead of the normal: "What do you want?" or "Go away.", the man smiles and starts to speak.
"Finally, someone to talk to. Or should I say... tell to..." You catch a glint of something in his eyes, and he continues.
"Don't be afraid, just gather around, and let me tell you a story..."
His eyes flash a brilliant blue as he says the first word, and you are whisked away.

Right, so all of you may be wondering what this is. It is, in the most simplest of terms, practice for me, and a game, or an adventure, for you. You choose the situation, era/time (steampunk, medieval, futuristic), character, etcetera and onwards, and I will do my best to make an exciting/engaging/etcetera story out of it. Now, I hope that I can let you guys decide what mostly happens, but everything you say will be loose outlines.
You can choose to fill out a form or something like:
Era: Steampunk
Character: Aspiring thief
Situation: Caught in a theft,
or something similar to that, or you can just type it in looser terms or whatever you want.
I'll usually go with the first post/suggestion/whatever you want to call it, unless it is something that doesn't make much sense/is really stupid.
Era: Medieval
Character: A noble night
Problem: A fellow night has been acused of... Dirty acts
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
That's three mass invasions within the same bloody month! I mean, seriously! The UDTU is attacking now, Blue has a sleeper attack coming soon, and now an invasion by space pirates? What is this, Russia if every american-made FPS happened at once?! - MagicallyDwarven
