That looks to be some sort of scaling issue to me. I would figure the mobile website is more suited for tablets and such. It can be fixed I would believe.

Except for the fact that the site uses the desktop display for me on my iPad. The screenshot was taken on a Samsung Galaxy S6.
Well if you are having issues with the web display on your ipad and/or vice versa, then you should of posted an image of what the site looks like on your ipad/phone instead of using your phone for an example image. According to that image, you certainly are not on the desktop display. Knowing what the "design" looked like on the desktop display, ipad and phone, would help better gauge how to fix the issue if it is a scaling issue or if there is just some HTML that overlaps and messes everything up.
It isn't so much the design that is an issue more so it is just the HTML messing up.
The post you made really isn't detailed and you don't explain anything about the "design". You aren't really pointing anything out either other than giving us a picture to ponder over as to what is wrong with it other than the obvious.
Maybe if you could explain the "design" issue, that would be nice?
Thank you for reporting this issue! I've confirmed that the issue can be reproduced. Yesterday we introduced a new widget in the netbar for viewing Minecraft live streamers on Twitch and it looks like while it's hidden by default in Mobile view, it's not hidden once you open the navigation menu. I've passed this on to the development team for investigation and resolution. Thank you

I used an image of a phone because the issue was on a phone. My iPad displays the site just fine.
The issue is easy to find at the top of the image. You can clearly see that things don't fit correctly.
I see. My bad. I thought you had said that the issue was on your ipad as well, but my point being that it seems to be a scaling issue remains. Since the ipad has a larger screen than a phone, HTML elements are less likely to overflow ontop of each other.
Sorry if i had misread you although things were not entirely clear as to what you said.
Looks like Citric is getting people to work on fixing it which is good so I bet this issue should be fixed in due time.
EDIT: oh would ypu look at that? Seems to be already fixed, or at least on my end it is. (Picrure above)
That actually is pretty weird that you can get to mobile view via your computer. I'm guessing curse actually does check for window size and determines to put you in mobile view that way. Personally I think that is cool but w/e. I think your avatar appears longer because it isn't a square such as mine where it does actually fit in the top right corner.
In my own opinion, a good fix for that would to just split the image off at a certain point instead of trying to scale it down to a regular square.
I noticed that the hamburger menu on the mobile site has some design issues.
After my 5th attempt I finally did it

Now all that needs to be fixed is avatar scaling.
If you look at the top-right corner of the mobile site you can see that my avatar overlaps with the 'News' button.
(Interesting fact is that the site seems to switch to mobile view based on screen width. I can get mobile view on my PC as well.)
