I've read about some updates and bug fixes since I started playing. I've tried to update the client using the "Force Update" under the options tab on the login screen but I don't think it is working, ex. I cannot do that upside down step block.
I looked on youtube for a tutorial but wasn't sure which was the right one. They all seemed mostly about hacking the client.
So if there is a tutorial; written or video can someone link it? I'm running my own server on my computer with Windows 7. I would ask my buddy who set up the server but he has been busy studying for his Cisco certification.
Next, just as an aside, wth is with the numbering system. 1.1 v. 1.8?
The force update only updates to the latest official release. All of the updates of late including the upside down brick update are from the snapshots. These need to be downloaded manually using the links provided in Jebs update and then copied into the minecraft.bin file.
The numbering system was reset to 1.0 once the game came out of Beta testing.
I'll take a look at Jeb's updates then. And thanks for the info on the reset, it was honestly freaking me out :smile.gif:
