When I saw the new Iron Golems today, the first thing I thought of was the robot from the animated movie "The Iron Giant" Here are some pictures:
I don't know why, but I immediately connect the two. Maybe it's because of the kind nature of both (The iron golem gives flowers to villager children.)
Does anyone else agree?
This. I like it. Even though I had never seen or heard of this movie and these robots til now, I like how they were implemented into Minecraft. I very much prefer it over just soldier class Testificates because I feel like the game is getting more lore.

They kind of reminded me of the massive Bryyo Guardians in Metroid Prime 3

First thing I thought of were ancient Romans for some reason. The first picture I saw, the golem had it's back turned, and immediately seeing the white hair and the iron that actually looked like a drape at first, I just assumed it was a villager made to have the appearance of a Roman guard or something like that...

Yes, I saw that the giving of roses was from Castle in the Sky, but I didn't know that the actual Golems were from it too.
