My question is: What does your inventory/hotbar consist of when you adventure, mine, go to the nether or just whatever your doing?
When I Adventure/go to the Nether, I like to have:
- 4 stone picks
- 2 iron picks
- 2 iron swords
- miscelaneous potions
- a stack of torches
- a stack of melon slices
- a bow and a stack of arrows
- a iron shovel
- flint and steel
- fishing rod
I cant figure out a good mining set though so if you could suggest yours that would be greatly appreciated.
In all cases, the blocks in slots 5-6-7 can be different, depending on the materials I'm building with.
The grass can be grass, or dirt, depending on whether I have a silk shovel or not. I do in 1 world.

Seems like I do it in the totally reverse of everyone else each time. I don't know why but I always keep my far left slots empty for building materials while my far right ones have my tools and weapons.

The two boxes are whatever material I'm working with. Sometimes a cart if I'm travelling. That food is also sometimes a health potion if I'm caving (food doesn't always need to be on that bar after all.) Works great for switching between pick and shovel, and for quickly switching to torches. Also, I use WQSE movement, rather than WASD.

Sword - Always on #1 To allow for easy access
Pickaxe - Always on #2 For easy access, and to Mine ofc!
Shovel - Always on #3 For Easy Access, and to get rid of those pesky Dirt buildups
Bow - Sometimes on #4 for semi Easy Access, In case I have to engage an enemy at range
Arrows (I like to See How Much actively) - Always to the Right of My bow, to see how much I have (Atleast one stack)
Misc Blocks - To Build across any gaps, or create barricades.
Misc Food - To Keep my Food bar Up
Random Loot - Always in the Last 3, For any loot I pick up.
Random Loot - Read Above
Torches - Always #10, for easy access.
This is my personal mining set, and If I'm adventuring above ground, I usually will replace the pick with an Axe.
Fun post, hope i helped! ( I also hope that Equaled 10 items!)

Yeah, this is pretty much how I roll as well.
That sounds like a pretty good set I will try it out later.
The three blanks change often based on what I'm doing; in the Nether the water is replaced by a fire resistance potion.

I actually like that one a lot haha.
The blanks can be anything but, I always have cobble or dirt depending if its really early in the game.
