This the build I've been doing on my creative server.
It started out as two little mountain peaks that I started to build a platform around. From there I leveled the peaks and started to build a base for the castle.
I had then built towers and a wall around the platform, building the outside of the castle. I then had each of the towers build straight to the ground. Later on I decided I didn't like the concept so I used tnt in the middles to create a jagged line, and then destroyed the rest of the tower below that line. Following that, the walls were built further down, and the waterfall addition was made. from that point I further expanded outward with the platform around the castle with the intent of building a city. My friend had created an obsidian tower which I had my platform engulf, he then moved and created a new obsidian tower, I'll include screens of that build at a later date.
Upon building the first 3 sides of the platform I became really lazy and finished off the front side with MC Edit, however the entire castle and all of the buildings shown are made by hand. The castle is still incomplete and smaller than intended due to the height restrictions of minecraft and my failure to account for it prior to starting the project. I hope you like what I have so far and let me know what you think.
This thread will be quite image heavy. All images have been taken with render distance on far, just to give you a feel of how large everything is.
The first few images were using Sphax PureBDcraft. Some of the other images are using vanilla seeing that I updated to 1.9 pre 2 and forgot that the texture pack wouldn't work.
I'll agree, it's a town right now, there's a lot of work to be done on the structure yet. I have a plan for building the slums beneath the platform. when building the castle, I made the error of building the wall first, and then building the castle, as well as the height limitations so I did what I could with it.
This looks good, you might want to consider make the tower more circle.
Thanks, I'm going over ideas with my friend to turn his tower into a cylinder. He has a lava trap that drops lava around the side of the tower, but we might be able to make it work with the proper modifications.
I don't think he cares as much about that tower seeing that he built a new one. We'll see what we can do. My biggest problem right now is making the houses unique and not cookie cutter houses, using non-burnable materials. It's been a pain.
