We have a lot of good builders here, so I was wondering what some of your not-so-common building tips are. By not common, I mean things that are specific or not commonly shared. So no "Add depth to your build or "Don't make your buildings square". Those are good tips, but that's not what I'm looking for in this thread. Your tips can be as specific or as broad as you want, just no commonly spread tips.
Some of my own here as examples:
Always add a frame, or edge block to house roofs or sloped roofs. For an example, look at the roof of these houses. (By the way, that's my PMC account, which is why we have the same profile pic)
When making streets for a city, always make the sidewalks a half to a full block higher than the street. If they're on the same level, the city looks flat, the different levels add more depth.
Also, something I'm very picky about: Always use stained glass in place of regular glass. Regular glass looks grainy and is too see-through, stained glass is smoother and adds that opacity that real-life glass has. (If you've ever noticed, it's hard to see through glass from far away, so that's why it being see-through looks unrealistic)
I have one. Always stay with the type or theme of the build. Never take the theme to a different place. For example like have a forest treehouse but have a end or nether theme inside. its ok if you dont have the same theme, But it will make the build have more of a surrounded theme to the build. it makes it look proffensional and modern.
Maybe this is one of those "everybody knows that but it took me years to figure out" things but either way, height is very important to the feel of the build.
If you want something to feel imposing, make it tall, like really tall, max out the build limit tall.
If you want something to feel claustrophobic and cramped, the x, z dimensions are less important than making the roof sit just above the player, 2 blocks tall is the best. Another related tip here is the importance of lighting, you could make that space feel even more cramped by adding only one or two torches.
Similarly that same space could be "cozy" if it's well lit and uses warm colors.

That's a good tip. I've never really heard it much before, so I don't think it's a thing everyone knows.
Generally, you always need to keep in mind the style of the build. Use matching colors, and decide if you want to build «perfect» or «realistic» which has for example some vines in random placed and damaged areas. Imo, medieval style is great for minecraft due to the large amount of stone blocks to choose from, which lets you add more details. Don’t try to build with nether bricks, unless you use a fitting texture pack the color combinations are just too ugly to create anything good.
For more advanced building, I recommend creating intricate patterns/areas and copying them with the in-game structure blocks or other tools when you want to create large builds. There is always some sort of pattern, and you save a massive amount of time doing this. If you want to make an area extra detailed and impress your fellow minecraft players, you can create «mini blocks» using invisible armorstands with block heads. These can also be rotated. You can also create custom blocks with the fallingsand entity.

Don't be afraid to take risks and definitely do NOT be afraid of building diagonally!
I may be a Beast, a Man, or a Monster - Which one I am depends on your perception of me.
Don't use to many dark colors, and lots of light! To me, I do not like dark builds! I like color, so use that!
(I know this is probably to common but just saying ;))

Creations are only restricted by your imagination.
