That's essentially a junk PC which needs to be put away, or donated to someone.
You can put together a PC capable of playing Minecraft very smoothly for less than £200. I posted specs in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=1010&t=106374
I didn't price up a monitor, keyboard, mouse or optical drive. Most people already have these handy.
i'm canadian. for christmas i only get 160$ max, 250 euro is about 325$
this is a desktop.
i get 10$ a week for allowance, and i have trouble saving money.
i would have to wait about 4 months to buy a new one. i wish i could get a job but i cant. im only 15, newspaper arn't accepting applications and i cant babysit because i have very little patience with small children
Well no offense but, if you get that much and your only issue is "i have trouble saving money" put in a bag and bury it or something, you don't HAVE to spend it you know.
A decent gaming PC can be 700-900 dollars, a 400 dollar PC makes yours look like it should run a wristwatch, its ancient.
Not trying to be rude, just trying to point out what i stated before, that there is very little room to upgrade your PC, and i think even if i went and maxed it out for you it'd still run minecraft like garbage, the core components like the mobo are just too old to expand with. Again, not berating, just giving you facts regardless of whether you can come up with money or not, it is a very, very dated computer.
1.60 GHz cpu and a 64MB NVIDIA..... *used* to play minecraft at 10 - 25 FPS with the occasional lag spike, but now with the beta out it plays a 0 FPS, yes ZERO FPS and maybe up to 1 FPS if I'm lucky if it works at all. Stupid decaying leaves. (:sleep.gif:)
Getting a new computer in a few months though :biggrin.gif:
i'd hate for you guys to do my shopping for me, but is this any good?

i have a very bad computer, and for christmas, with the money i'm getting, im going to start to upgrade my computer.
my minecraft is very laggy. about 5fps on lowest render distance and fast graphics. nothing is running in the backround while im playing this.
every once in a while, it'll be fine and very smooth, but it only lasts 5 min tops, and 1nce per day.
to fix this, should i upgrade my graphics card, or RAM?
i dont know what graphics card i have but i do know i have 1 gig of ram

If i got that right your computer is like, really old.
It also only has PCI slots so you'll have to get a PCI video card if you really want to, and it only supports 2g of DDR memory.
EDIT: Honestly if you can save up a bit i'd just buy a new computer because yours barely has any room for upgrade as is.
A decent gaming PC can be 700-900 dollars, a 400 dollar PC makes yours look like it should run a wristwatch, its ancient.
