Hi,
Recently, I did a fresh reinstall of windows XP home edition. I then installed all the proper drivers for the Gateway mx7515 (old, I know). However, when I try to use a browser, it acts as if I am not connected despite it saying that I am connected with very good wireless connection. I am using the ethernet right now, and it works just fine.
My IP begins with 169.254, and from what I have collected, this is not good as it means its private or something. Also, the computer cannot find the DHCP server, and does not have a DNS. Please help.

if not then idk.
if so read the time it takes. depending on that will tell you the speed you have. if its high your intnernet usage is like bad. or idk
if it works with ethernet. and not wireless then you need a new wireless card. =P
