Hi guys! I would love some help developing a system for automatically chopping trees down. I've created an animation where I use a squid egg to summon an armor stand wearing lumberjack gear. When you give him an iron axe, he walks away from the tree a little, turns around, and swings the axe.
What I want is for the tree to come tumbling down as items when he does this. I tried making a command on a clock that summons invisible armor stands relative to the original in order to create an invisible array of armor stand that then fill at their feet with the destroy argument. Either my computer isn't beefy enough or this is simply too much for the game as it inevitably crashes.
Are you able to use a fill command to replace the logs and leaves with air and set it to destroy so the items fall down? Also that stuff sounds complicated but cool, so congratulations
That sounds like a really good idea. The only problem I foresee is not being able to tell where the logs and leaves are. This will be primarily for double spruce and jungle trees, so it would be tricky to find out which blocks to replace relative to the armor stand. I'll try it and let you know how it goes.
Thanks so much for the compliment! I've been getting really into command block creations recently and I love to experiment with all sorts of crazy ideas. I've made some cool stuff like a crafting unit with custom recipes, rainbow leather armor, an automatic tree grower with intermediary steps, and a system that makes little creations out of tiny blocks - all in vanilla.
Edit: Hmm.. I'm gonna have a hard time with the giant jungle tree branches.
