i voted for 'other' because it would be great if you did fences and gates. I don't think i've scene any tutorials on them (but i'm heading off to search on youtube for them now, so i probably shouldn't say that there aren't any at all until after i've checked there)
i have mentioned doing fences in the past. i will think about it for next weeks tutorials.
Hmm. I did have a mod back when I ran modloader that did allow you to put a slab on another with it going where you placed it even if there was nothing on the other side.
Such as if you placed it from the top it would form upwards rather than disappearing to the bottom and vice versa. So there is a way. It's just a matter of how. I'll try to find a way on my end and update you if I fix it.
the error is new because it deals only with slabs that are on an higher half of the block.
additional creative pages would be awesome, same with custom potions, enchantments, and a nice gun tutorial....
noted. i have actually written a tutorial on additional creative tabs and just need to mark the page as visible. i plan to wright tutorials in my free time throughout the week and then make them publicly visible on friday.
some tutorials i had planned to make for friday (in order of me doing them)
1) custom creative tabs
2) fences
3) glass panes/ironbars
4) potion effects on items
5) potion effects on food
then there are several tutorials i would like to do but i am not sure i f i will b able to get them done in time.
2) Armor
3) Throwable Items
4) Custom gun and projectile
6) Mobs (this will include spawn eggs and probably some basic ai work)
7) Custom world types (worlds that are all one biome)
Edit: i removed some tuts because of complications
Nice list, numbers 4 and 5 in the top list have been done before a few times, but you seem to explain things well, so cant wait to see your take. From the bottom list 4, 5 and 7 would be nice to see real soon, and 6 as long as there is a version for 1.3.2 or atleast add the differences for 1.3.2 in the explanation...

i know that 4,5 have been done a lot but it is just more tutorials for me to have under my name. also 7 is pretty easy. for 6 im not sure how i will go about it. right now the only notable difference between 1.2.5 and 1.3.2 is that the rendering is done only on the client side meaning you need to add renderers to the client proxy. as it stands i dont think there is a difference between 1.3.2 and 1.4.x for mobs or at least not that i have seen.

Good list. The more well done tutorials and variety, the better.
the error is new because it deals only with slabs that are on an higher half of the block.
So I noticed it only happens with slabs that are sharing a side with another block but if it is floating on it's own it the slabs work like normal with no bugs.

so the slabs will only do it if they are connected with another block? this is strange indeed. i thought it was do to how the slabs were set to function.

Yup so if you're going to try to figure it out it'll help narrow it down. Still looking myself.
I think it's pretty dahm obvious what's wrong with the half slabs...
i know whats wrong with them aswell as i stated before. it just turns the block into a double slab when placed. this is because i base all of my tutorials off of notes i have made in the past. the slab tutorial is not meant for the new slab mechanics and i will be remaking the tutorial soon.
when i make tutorials i usually base them off of my old notes so i have to update them from modloader 1.2.5 to forge 1.4
as you can see there is bound to be small errors here and there.
just an update. i have no plans to update the slab tutorial. it is a minor bug. at the moment i am going to be focusing on getting many new tutorials up for Friday as well as updating the current tutorials to work with 1.4.4. dont get me wrong i want to have a working tutorial for you guys but i need to start prioritising.
it is posible that the code is the same however if you find errors please point them out so i can update them.
i will not be rewrighting the tutorials as this is only a minor update however next major update i will be making diferent sections similar to what wuppy has done for 1.3 and 1.4

as i said i will think about it for the next tutorials. i tend to release a bunch of tutorials on fridays.

I just started modding three weeks ago and just switched to Forge a week ago. So I'm still green under the gills.
as i mentioned it is just outdated code. i will get to it when i have the chance. sorry if this is a huge inconvenience.
Farewell everyone o/
No it's fine I was just stating why it isn't obvious to me.
i know. im just saying why it is the way it is. it is because the way the code is actually made does not support slabs in such a way.
