How Do I get my mod to load from the mods folder instead of being put in the jar?
Modloader automatically searches the mods folder. It can only go into the mods folder if it doesnt edit any base files. If its a simple blocks mod, it only needs to go in the mods folder.
Would you know anything about Portal blocks? I need to fix the texture for mine because i'm adding a new dimension. I want the portal block to have a moving texture, and for it to be translucent, like the Nether Portal Block. Any ideas? The Block files don't give any clues :/ Thanks in advance, jbond98

Yup, i'm using the API, and I've located the TextureCustomPortalFX class, but i'm not exactly sure what to do with it. Would I just make my own PortalFX class and change that?

I believe so. I actually just made it a block that changes on contact, so when it comes into contact with air, it constantly changes. I'll make a tutorial on it soon

Ok, i'll try that. Thanks, and i'll look out for it
Feel free to reply if it works I'd like to know more about it too. Thanks
Nope, didn't work. I don't think you're supposed to make your own PortalFX class, I think you're supposed to just implement the CustomPortalFX class somewhere, I just don't know where. I really wish pundelhund would explain this better >.< I'll get back to you on this.

Try doing that. I know TheInstitutions has a 1.2.5 tutorial on DimensionAPI, but Pudelhund most likely changed a lot. Sorry D:

Yes, i've watched his tutorials, and his 1.3.1 Dimension Tutorial, but nothing about Portal FX, and i've talked to pundelhund himself, but he hasn't had a chance to reply to my message about Portal FX. I guess we'll just see how this plays out I've been thinking about making some 1.3.2 modding tutorials, but I don't know... there are already so many tutorials out there :/

Yeah, i cant help you D:
Sorry! I wish i could, but i haven't really played with dimensions.
I can see several errors in your code.
You have defined your block as "BlockLight" but you refer to it in several places as just "Light".
Change the references to match.
Your recipe needs attention aswell. Change
Character.valueOf('@'), Block.glass
to
'@', Block.glass
You also have not included a block or item for '#'.
In the BlockLight class file change
return mod_Block.Light.160;
to
return this.blockID;
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the help,
