I really need help with installing MCP Ive looked every where and asked everywhere but cannot find the awsner.
When i run the decompile.bat folder it says that 'jar' is not recognized as an internal or external command

Please i need help i really want to start modding

Did you put clean bin and resource folders, plus a clean minecraft_server.jar, into the jars folder? If not, then there's nothing to decompile.

Yes i have done this but i still have the same problem and i just redid it just in case

Are you using the updated version of MCP?

Other than that, I'm not sure what could be causing the problem. I'd suggest redownloading MCP.

Yeah im using the nonofficial 1.5_01 but i also tried using the 1.4 one and i couldn't get it to work either
Also it seems alot of people have this problem

Perhaps it's an issue with the version of Java you're using? Did you install the SDK?

I've found the problem. When setting up the Path Variables in the tutorial it said to copy and paste the files into the path variable.But my computer put the Java JDK into program files (86x) and on the tutorial it was just program files so all i had to do was put in the (86x) into the path variable and it worked like magic!

Also off topic but which is better notepad++ or eclipse?

Either should work, but I think MCP is only compatible up to 1.4_01
