Do me a favor, try: \bin\minecraft\net\minecraft\src
If that not work, try putting it in the jars\minecraft.jar
They recently updated MCP, and changed a lot. I'm not qutie used to it yet.

Well, I may have seen a few things, but idk if they are the problem, could you paste the error here? I explain how to paste from the CMD prompt in my "reporting errors" section.

DId u use prowns tutorial link? THe one I provided? He said this in the code:
ModLoader.AddSpawn(EntityTiger.class, 2, EnumCreatureType.creature); // this adds the mob to the list of "to-spawn" mobs. The "2" is the rarity of the mob. The EnumCreatureType is what kind of mob it is. For example, squids are "waterCreature", enemies are "monster", and animals are "creature".

Also, I was thinking I would teach you all how to make ores, and tools from those ores next, because you'd learn some simple world gen(to make your ore generate), and also, how to make tools, I was thinking, i'd teach you how to make a new weapon type as well, and the bow an arrow, it'd be a long tutorial, with these different parts:
Part 1. Making the ore/Making it generate/smelting it.
Part 2. Making the pickaxe, shovel, axe, and hoe.
Part 3. Making the Sword/Bow.
Part 4. Making the arrow.
Part 5. Making a new weapon and tool type.
Do you all think thats good? After that, i'm not sure what I want to do, so any ideas? I was considering something about a block with a GUI. Or a mob. One or the other. What do you all think of this?

Why planks.java? And it would be BlockPlanks.java, but it doesn't have a class... You see, you can make blocks with the material. line, and that ways, you don't have to create a new class, planks are material.wood. You can find this line in the block class. You can't customize blocks by using the material line though.
Edit: Well you can customize them, for instance the texture, however, you can't add anything besides the .setHardness type things. Like slipperiness.

I dont know why but it isn't working it is coming up with errors like
src/minecraft/net/minecraft/src/mod_SuperBlock.java:15: cannot find symbol
symbol : variable AqB
location: class net.minecraft.src.mod_OurMods

Hello m8!
Let me start by saying THANKS because this was a perfect tutorial! It was quick & easy (thats what she said?).
1 problem though, Im not sure i fully understand editing the blocks textures.
Well, i cant exactly find the terrain.png, you stated it was in "MCP/Temp" but i surely dont see it there. Then I looked around & found a terrain.png in "MCP/Temp/bin/minecraft". Would that be the correct place to find it?
If yes, then I dont know what Im doing wrong.
Heres a picture of the 1.5 terrain:
I set my blocks texture thingy to 30 & I colored it in & all that jiggly stuff but still it didnt changed, it remained a purple block :/. It works when i try 29 or 31 but not 30. Help meh please.
(sorry if the answer is ridiculously obvious & i sound like an idiot here)
What do you mean it works when you try 29 or 31? And, I think that is the wrong spot now, since the update of MCP. I'll have to find the right one, give me a minute.

Maybe we do something like 3x5 or maybe a duel furnace that allows you to make alloy metals... (Copper and tin > Bronze, iron and coal > steel(wikipedia said iron and carbon makes steel...), and aluminum type thing.) That would be cool. Ty for your input.

By 29 & 31 I mean the blocks that take up the 29th & 31st space on the terrain.png
29 being a mushroom & 31 being fire.
Okay, yeah, try putting the new terrain.png in the minecraft.jar in the jars folder. I trying now myself.

I'm running ModLoader and Minecraft 1.5_01, and MCP 3.1. All of the newest versions, basically.
When following your tutorial for MCP with ModLoader, I get these errors, when trying to make a block+texture:

With my luck it is something simple, but I'm still stuck. Many thanks!
Alright if anybody could help I don't know where to put the .pngs for armor index skins. And could someone clarify what the code is as I cannot get it to work.
Keiser:
Can u give me your code as well? And, modloader doesn't seem to be working quite right for you, did you delete meta inf? It may just be something in the code, that I need to see.

I have found the problem you also need to put the .png in the .minecraft//minecraft.jar which was not needed on the last MCP.
You were right! Thx a bunch!
