Splash Screen Text?
A splash screen text is that line you see beside the Minecraft logo in the main menu. For this tutorial, we'll be creating one that says "This is a custom splash text!"
For this tutorial, you'll need:
-Windows (I haven't gotten around to the mac version, but it's pretty much the same)
How to Step 1 - Navigate to your ".minecraft" folder in %appdata%. You should know how to do this, and if you don't, you're on the wrong forum.
Step 2 - Open up "minecraft.jar" in the bin folder of your ".minecraft" directory using Winrar.
Step 3 - Navigate to the "title" folder.
Step 4 - Double click "splashes.txt". By default this will open the file in Notepad, but if you want to use something else, just drag the file into your favorite text editor.
Step 5 - Type in a string you want to show in the splash screen. You can choose to add to the predefined list by adding your string into another line, but what I did in this tutorial was deleted all the other things and placed my own. (Making it the only one that shows up... ever...)
Step 6 - Go up a folder into the main Minecraft.jar archive directory. If you haven't installed a mod before, you'll find a folder called "META-INF." Delete this folder.
Step 7 - Now your message should appear when you get on minecraft!
