-I have tried the search function, it's "offline" right now
-I have never installed any mod before
Okay, I want to install someone's mod, and it requires Risugami's modloader or whatever. So here's what I did.
Downloaded it, put it into minecraft.jar, and then deleted the META folder or whatever it's called. Currently the "modloader" is inside of minecraft.jar, and it's still a .zip file, I guess.
Now, how do I get the mod that I want to install (I already downloaded it) into the folder? I have not found any tutorials on how to do this (I'm on windows and using winrar) So if someone could tell me real quick it'd be great.
Ok, although this is the wrong section for this. I will give you a quick how to. (Windows, Sorry if your on a MAC)
1 Navigate to your appdata, (This can be done by going Start -> Run -> %appdata%
2 open the .minecraft
3 go to bin
4 open minecraft.jar with winrar achiever or an different archiving tool
5 DELETE META-INF
6 DELETE META-INF
7 DELETE META-INF
8 Make sure you followed all the steps.
9 Drag and drop all the files into the jar (Do not copy over files such as readme.txt or mod.jar)
10 exit (YOu do not need to save before youu exit)
11 Start up mc
