ModLoader allows you to specify a seperate PNG image that is then added to the default minecraft images at runtime. The advantage of this is it allows multiple mods which add items to work concurrently without actually changing the default image.

Well if it's of any consolation.. I haven't really been replying to many people lately... Been busy with personal things.
The error looks like it is due to something not existing..
Do you have .minecraft installed?
Did you copy the necessary files to MCP?
Have you setup Java correctly?
Hmm... well did you recently install Java or has it been installed for a while? Did you make sure you got the right version for your computers architecture? 32 bit or 64 bit? What happens when you open up a console and type "javac"?
I installed it right when I first tried MCP, and It was ok for like a minute, then I tried to move it, and everything went all frizzy. i have 32 bit, And I installed Java when I first tried MCP, which was last month. And Im pretty Sure it is my architecture. Help!
Ok, heres my error. Remember, the errors when i decompile. I think this error all started when i pressed cleanup. I then reseted my bin and resources, by deleting the one in there, and adding brand new ones. I pressed cleanup because i think i got a recompile error.

If it stopped working after running cleanup... maybe it broke something? Not sure...
Try re-installing MCP into a different directory and starting from scratch. That way you should be able to tell whether or not it is due to MCP or due to Java.

HUH? Is half your post missing or something?
Please put compile errors in a <CODE></CODE> forum element so that they are readable.

Hey Everyone, Just wondering, Is the Furnace Tutorial outdated? Because I can't find 'private int getSmeltingResultItem(int i)' in my TileEntityFurnace
Any help would be awesome

It could be that you don't have write access to the folders (Windows Vista/7 are rather strict about not letting users create files outside their user directory).
Try moving your MCP-Directory from "C:\" onto your desktop and try it again to make sure that isn't the problem.
I'm reposting this from the last page because no one helped me at all.
Everything works up until this point, I've made the item and block, the item works in-game but minecraft crashes as soon as I try to place the block.
ItemDynamite: I want it to place "BlockDynamite", I don't know how to do that though.
package net.minecraft.src;
public class ItemDynamite extends Item
{
public ItemDynamite(int i)
{
super(i);
maxStackSize = 64;
}
}
BlockDynamite: When I place the block, minecraft crashes. I want to block to be the 1/8th sized block used for minecart tracks and redstone wire, and using the same texturing method. I want the block to instantly destroy the block it was placed on when activated with a redstone circuit, but I don't know what I have to do to make that work.
package net.minecraft.src;
import java.util.Random;
public class BlockDynamite extends Block
{
public BlockDynamite(int i, int j)
{
super(i, j, Material.tnt);
setBlockBounds(0.0F, 0.0F, 0.0F, 1.0F, 0.125F, 1.0F);
}
public int idDropped(int i, Random random)
{
return 0;
}
}

my question is, is it the Item you are trying to place? that could be the problem. If your crafting the item and trying to place the item, i could see that causing the crash. try setting it so when you craft it, it makes Block.dynamite instead of Item.dynamite
?
i guess it would be the same as normal go onto yahoo
