Anyway, I’ll just say one more time that this is some early game plot I made with my friends, it’s a bit rough still and I definitely plan to work out some bits before I do anything with it for me. (but you don’t need to worry about that.)but I feel it’s a good example of something I wrote recently. I put my name last since I’m not a narcissistic jerk, not because I didn’t really write it… (Why does everyone think that…)
The Trails of the Obsidian Mist
Chapter 1
Collectively Authored by iitzAnthony, Govy Lambarri, and Nico DeMagio
Zhen looked tiredly out over the Lord’s Trail to the west of town. With winter fast approaching the last of the merchants and travelers of the year had been arriving in town, and the Fairedge guard had been busy making sure to keep order with all the new arrivals. It always seems that so many of the kingdoms wealthy come to spend their cold seasons in the relatively stable weather of the Orange Coast, but of course they can’t stand to leave all their valuables, so of course they bring in all kinds of valuable trinkets and artifacts. None of which should be his fault, but of course with all that wealth in town the thieves just can’t seem to help themselves, and no one but Raff has even the slightest control over the cities underground activity, and no one but Zhen and Emil have any semblance of control over Raff. So of course his brother Stephan had been practically demanding him to have words with Raff for the last week since the crime was starting to get out of hand, and as the head of the town guard it was his younger brother Stephan’s duty to try to have Zhen persuade the ex-Crimelord to have words with his old army of thieves and street thugs. Poor Raff, no one but he and Emil could even attempt to understand the once thief’s strange ways…
Raff had been born in the northern desert kingdom of (Svelshak), “The Mother’s Heat”, referring both to the warmth of a mother when she holds her children close and the fiery anger of love that only a mother can have for her children when they do wrong. Raff was the ******* son of a prostitute but as the (Svels) have the strange notion that women should lead society it was not his mother who was unknown but his father. His father had been one of the many male prostitutes who found work in that woman run desert land. His mother, Rilen Torale, had been head servant to Laidra Etrux, daughter of Virda Etrux, who was one of the “Seslivi”, the ruling council of (Svelshak). Raff often spoke of his mother and the young Lady Etrux. Virda had been a kind employer and had even helped to deliver and raise the child born to her most trusted servant, despite having only just birthed her own daughter not three months prior. His mother had been one of the Lady’s most trusted servants and having been raised together, Raff and Laidra were close friends. For his twelfth birthday he received that dagger he always wears at his side from his mother, it had been his grandfathers “lucky dagger” since it had been the one he had used to save the life of a traveling merchant woman, from desert raiders. The woman had been so grateful she had invited him to travel with her caravan, and the two quickly fell in love and soon she was with child. Raff’s mother, Rilen had been born on the road, and had been raised in the life of a merchant, but she found that as she grew older that the life of travel and trade was not really for her and she had subsequently, around the age of 16, pleaded with her mother to let her go out on her own find her way in the world. Her mother had of course told her that she was far too young to even entertain such thoughts of self-reliance in a place as often harsh as (Svelshak). Similar conversations, which eventually became arguments, came up for several years, until one day they were attacked by a small band of desert raiders. Her father fought against them and managed to drive his trusty dagger between the ribs and through the cruel heart of their leader, but as tragedy would have it not a second later the arrow of another raider bit cruelly into his neck. The raiders fled upon the death of their leader, but with most of the goods ruined and her husband dead, Raff’s grandmother became wracked with grief. Rilen had managed to get her mother into their sand wagon and drive the desert horses to town where she immediately rushed her mother to the Lady Ertux who had been good customer and friend to her family. The Lady quickly took them in and had a doctor try to help Relin’s mother but it seemed nothing could be done. As is so often the case with people who experience such gut-wrenching sorrow, she had simply lost the will to go on living and within two weeks she had passed. Relin, having now lost both parents and with nowhere to go and owning nothing but the clothes on her back, her fathers “lucky” dagger, and lock of her mother’s hair which she keep inside a hidden compartment in the hilt of that dagger, she was offered a position as a servant by Lady Virda’s mother who was at that time the head of the family since Virda was only 23, just 4 years older than Relin. It was there that Raff’s mother had lived since, becoming the most trusted assistant of the Ertux family, and where she would eventually raise her son Raff.
Despite his status as a ******* Raff had lived a fairly normal life until one awful day when great tragedy once again stuck his family. His mother and he had been invited to a lunch with Lady Ertux and her daughter as they sometimes were, but Raff, sad to miss a chance to talk with Laidra, had been sentenced by his mother to clean all of their rooms since he had made a huge mess of it in searching for his Grandfather’s dagger, which his mother had hidden from him since he managed to accidently cut a gash in his left thumb with it the week prior. So begrudgingly Raff stayed behind and began to clean the whole of their small living space, but of course Raff was just as sneaky back then and he managed to simply make the rooms look clean while hiding the majority of the mess behind the clean parts, and so he was finished in just under 20 minutes. Knowing that he had likely only missed half of the lunch, he rushed toward the dining rooms hoping to still have a chance to spend some time with Laidra, who he was beginning to realize he was starting to become more and more attracted to. Of course it’s often said that “Fate favors not a *******”, and for Raff that held true this day. For upon arriving in the Dining hall he discovers a half dozen guards fighting eight or so assassins, and upon the floor lay his mother, throat slit but with her hand clasp around a dagger buried hilt deep in the chest of one of the assassins, behind her lay the body of Lady Ertux, similarly slain while Laidra who appeared to physically unscathed sat kneeling and crying over the body of her mother, Raff tried to comfort her she appeared to be far to woebegone to hear his words. Blinded by a sudden and absolute rage he ripped the dagger from his dead mothers grasp and the chest of the bloodied assassin and turned toward the fighting between the guards and the scum who had murdered the Lady Ertux and his mother, and he raced into the battle. Embracing a side of himself he had not known before he skillfully fought and slew three of the criminals before they had even realized anther had entered the fray. Seeing the rage of primal fury that rose from this boy, and the remaining 5 guards who were still ready to fight, the Assassins turned and began to flee. Raff made as if to give chase but a tall guard stopped him.
“What are you doing? Their gonna get away!” he screamed in tears.
“Trust me they won’t get far alive”, he calmly replied.
Still confused and upset Raff followed the guard around to the front of the door that the Assassins had fled to find their bodies riddled with arrows.
“See boy, we had Aaron go warn the archers of the Assassins and give them orders to shoot anyone who came out his way when we first arrived upon the scene. Now go see what you can do for Laidra, you’re her best friend and probably the only one who can help her through this. She just lost her Mother and since he father died in that sandstorm when she was 2 She has no family left but you.”
Raff nodded and ran back into the dining hall to find Laidra now standing, silently watching as doctors and guards looked over her mother.

I’m gonna cut it there because its gotten RIDICULUSLY to long for a forum post…
I can only hope you read at least some small part of it and enjoyed it! I don’t claim to be some great writer but I don’t think I’m half bad, and hopefully you agree!
Side Note: If you cared (or even noticed...) the reason that Svelshak is in parenthesis is because I'm still not sure if I'll keep that as the name of the sand kingdom place...
Oh, and sorry for the double post but if you need someone to do redstone stuff I can totally do that too. I won't make a full builder application because I don't really build much (no visual art skills...) but I'm a computer programmer and the logic stuff for redstone just makes sense to me. So yea... If you need someone who's really good with redstone I'd be willing to help with that to... but probably only if I get a writing position...

Those are pictures of a huge castle city that we were building. Server got wiped for 1.8 =/ Otherwise I'd have pictures of a fire temple I did as well.
We still need LOTS of help! The capitol is currently being worked on and aspects of it look amazing! We need more towns and a couple more cities, too. Dungeon construction will be under way once the infrastructure is up - don't miss out!
I'm a poet, and I've tried writing fantasy once before, but nothing really stuck, so I gave it up and regretted it ever since, but have had writer's block every time I get past the introduction. This seems like a good exercise to get past the writer's block.
Writing example: 'Once there a land that only existed ages ago, before the fall of what we now regard as mythical beasts, and the disappearance of all forms of magic. In this land there existed a town, called Melkeveil where a boy practiced his swordsmanship, in hopes of one day, becoming a knight. This boy's name was Garon Garujo, and along his life he will encounter foes both great and small, and a few brave friends to join him on his quests.'
And then it ends...This is what would normally be on the back of a book cover, or on the page before the first chapter, describing what's in it. And that's always about as far as I get.
So, that's my app. I don't see too much reason that you would pick me, but hey, maybe you'll see something in me that I don't.

Writing example: Haramen had just finished mining the obsidian. Earlier that day he had gone mining
and come across a strange room of cobblestone. As he mined the first block cobblestone away a smell of
rotting flesh hit him like a wall. The first thing he noticed was a flaming baby zombie in a cage "strange" he thought.
He pulled out his sword and entered the room out of the corner of his eye he saw some thing brown fearing the worst
he threw down a torch and got ready to attack but it was only a chest."What is a chest doing here?" he whispered to him self when he opened it all he found was a old brown piece of paper with a drawing of an obsidian rectangle "hmmm what could it mean." he thought he froze as he heard a slight moan behind him.Swinging his sword around with all his might he sliced the zombies head off. He needed to leave the little zombie was spinning faster and faster some how he knew this was bad. He left the strange place closing it behind him then went to go find the obsidian. Haramen had just finished mining the obsidian and gone to his house and began building.A few minutes later he finished and as he jumped down his flint and steel fell out of his pocket and made a spark as he turned around a strange swirling blue layer formed. At first he was wondering if it was just the mushroom he had eaten for breakfast making him hallucinate so he stepped into it at first his vision became purple and then it started to swirl and whisper horrible things then he passed out.As soon as he woke he felt it the heat was unbearable. He heard a screech and a flaming ball was suddenly roaring towards him he dived out of the way but it hit the portal behind him."Damn" he cursed to him self as he started looking for the flint and steel in his pocket his face suddenly drained of blood as he realized he had left it on his workbench at home.He was stuck in hell

What type of things do you like to write? Mostly short stories. I've plotted a novel I'm going to try and write during National Novel Writing Month. I've done play-by-post roleplaying on and off for around 3 years.
Writing example: Something I wrote during last year's National Novel Writing Month (You have to write 50,000 words and I failed with only 2000 xD. I was busy with senior year in high school though. Now that I'm in college, I'd probably have enough time.). It's the prologue and a bit lengthy. The rest of the story was in third-person, btw (I can't write in first person for long. I need to be in every character's head! xD)
------
I haven’t slept for three days.
The first time this all started, I thought it was just a harmless nightmare. I got up, walked to the bathroom, splashed cold water on my face and stared into the mirror. Light green eyes stared back at me. My hair was a mess. Long blond strands stuck to my forehead and cheeks. Running a hand through it, I began to leave. But something caught my eye. Turning to the left, I saw a thin, long cut down my arm. Remembering how my dream went, it shook me up a bit. But I threw it aside and went back to bed.
That was when it started again.
I was standing in the middle of an ancient road made of cobblestone. The buildings had a medieval look to them, with wooden frames and thatched or slated roofs. The streets were dimly lit with the light of candles from some houses and the moon directly above. Looking at my clothes, I realized I was dressed like those guys who participate in the Renaissance fair.
Something growled behind me, and I turned to look, my heart pounding in my chest. Cautiously, I walked toward the sound. Out of an alley emerged a horrific creature. It had a snout of a dog, with protruding fangs dripping saliva onto the ground. The body was covered in dirty matted fur. It stood upright, towering over me, but it looked as if it were quadrupedal. Eyes glowing red, it
stared back at me.
I froze in terror as it started to growl again. I knew I had to run, but I couldn't feel my legs. The beast started to move closer, then lunged at me. I was able to move out of the way, but its claw caught my left arm, leaving a long scratch. I ran as fast as I could down the street, my feet pounding on the cobblestone. I didn't dare look back.
Ducking into an alley near the edge of the town, I slipped into a shadow, hoping that it wouldn't see me. I saw the monster pass by, looking up. It was probably trying to sniff me out. Which worked. It backtracked and entered the alley, staring straight at me. My heart pounded in my chest, knowing these were my last moments. The monster lunged at me, and I quickly ducked, but I was too slow. Its giant paw cut into my right arm like butter, leaving three lacerations that bled profusely. I ran out of the alley, and down the street. As I did, I ripped off a piece of my shirt and tied it around my bleeding arm tightly.
I knew I didn't have long before the monster caught up to me; I was growing weaker as my wound bled through the makeshift bandage. The monster roared behind me, dangerously close. The last thing I felt was being struck on the head.
I woke up with a start. My head hurt like hell. I lifted an arm to rub it, and froze in shock. It was covered in blood, and a makeshift bandage wrapped around it. It couldn't be. It was just a dream wasn't it? But everything was so vivid...
I haven't slept for three days.
I was too afraid to. The dreams were real; the infected cuts on my right arm were proof. I haven’t even bothered to remove the bandage. A yellow liquid oozed out from underneath it. But no one believes me. So I sat in a corner of my room, eyes bloodshot and baggy, body shaking violently. I felt drowsy. So, so drowsy. My eyes drooped, and I reached for a can of Red Bull, but it was empty. Panic rose in my stomach, and I desperately searched for an unopened one. But I soon felt exhaustion sweeping over me quicker than I could have imagined.

The laws of magic are absolute. The laws of physics are optional.
