Writing Essay:
He was pushed down on to the ship's wooden floor, the rough texture scraping his face. He was just found hiding in the ships storage. He looked up to see the captain looking down on him. "What ye have ere?" the captain said. He had an odd odor coming from him, his skin looked liked it roughened from years of work. "What are you doing are me ship?" the captain asked.
"My name is Jackal Anbis." the stowaway said. It was obvious that he was using what little energy he had left. The captain drew his blade out of its sheath and held it under Jackal's chin.
"Jackal, please tell me why your on my ship? And why in the hell should I let you live." the captain growled. Sweat slowly fell of of Jackal's face and on to the captain's blade. Fear was racing through his head, he came so far, he didn't want to die now. His eyes looked around furiously looking for a way out, fortunately the gods seem to answer his prayers.
"So what will it be? How will I kill ya?" the captain asked.
"You can't kill me now," Jackal said with a hint of glee in his voice.
"And why is that Mr.Jackal?"
"Because..." He stood up causing the crew to go into an offensive stance. With what energy he had left he bellowed out two words "LAND HOOOOOO!" and he fainted on the ship's deck.

I am sorry for my very bad essay >.<
Ah! A fellow Roleplay Gater! I'm actually glad to see someone from that site, even if we haven't met. Might've seen me there as ShadeYuka. Anyways, I'm adding you to the waiting list.
Also, the essay wasn't bad, just need to fix the sentence "Sweat slowly fell of of Jackal's face and on tot he captain's blade." Never the less, I liked it. Stowaways are cool. Anyways, thank you for taking interest in the server, keep watching for any further developments.

the sea. the blue dreadful sea. i thought as i waving goodbye to my family on a ship that i really didnt want to be on but was hoping for a new start and way to help my family back on mainland. i was an architect building and designing old style houses, entertainment buildings, town halls, even entire towns, but then the new "modern" style buildings. they soon started tearing down everything i stood for to build these abominations they call art. i swore i would never give up ye olde style of architecture. soon i lost all credibility in building and went bankrupt. i knew i needed to find a new way to support myself. i eventually ended up on the brink and was living on the street, but as i was walking down the street swimming in my sorrows when i saw a poster i a stop sign advertising the trip a lifetime, requiring as many people as possible to travel to a new and prominent land for colonization. I knew this was what i needed, so i went to the docks as fast as i could to sign up.
my family was sad, i was sad to leave, but i had no other choice. i saw land slowly getting smaller and smaller as i soon only saw a vast, a deep blue ocean. hours were passing by faster than i expected but i knew this would take more than a few hour so i wanted to get comfortable. i walked down to the hull of the ship i was on, the capehart, it suited the ship well. i found a bed deep in the bowels of the ship, it wasnt pretty but it was comfortable. a man walked into the room with two bowls it smelled of food, what i did not know, she asked if i wanted some. i did feel hungary so i said yes. she handed me the bowl and said her name was sarah. she said that she was looking forward to the to see what type of land this was. i asked why she was coming. she answered with a simple i don't know. i didnt know how to respond to this. i asked why she didnt have a reason, because i knew purpose a quest of a sorts. she answered in a soft tender voice that she wanted to go on an adventure that the time felt right and she took the opportunity. i smiled with a sudden happiness but with confusion as well. i was speechless to this girl that made me think of why i was even doing this. just as i was about to say my name there was a rumbling in the ship, then heard an explosion. we had no idea what it was. we both went up to deck, it was night i didnt realize haow time had passed, the crew was scrambling around the ship. we saw smoke coming from somewhere on the ship. it was very dark almost no torches were lit. i suddenly heard a scream from behind. i turned around a i saw it was sarah, she was pointing somewhere on the ship. i quickly looked to where she was pointing and i saw simply a monster. it was moving quickly toward her. it was making a strange awful cringing noise and was a disgusting slime green that caught your eye. eyes that looked like caves that just drilled holes into your skull. I ran towards her not knowing what to do. i was too late it got a foot away from her then exploded. i went flying back and blacked out. the next thing i knew i was in a bed in a strange room. a noticed a door open and a man walked in carrying a tray a food. i asked if sarah was ok. he said who then told me that he found passed out on the beach and ive been out for two weeks. i asked where i was and he told me the palce i was coming too on those ships, he told me that the creatures that lived here somehow got out out sea and destroyed some of the ships and i was the only survivor. i suddenly sank i felt like i lost a best friend even though ive only known her for a few hours. it took me a few weeks to get better. after a few weeks i was able to back on my feet. i went to the city hall and got the job of head architect and i knew i would be able to keep doing what i love. i swore i would never forget sarah and try my hardest.
This will have to be fully discussed with the group next time we're in a skype call. I can tell you that I enjoy playing a rogue, or a thief sometimes, breaking into things and stealing items to make money off of. That's just in the typical sense for roleplay type games, like Oblivion or Fallout. However, when it comes to Minecraft, people don't want to be able to grief, and some people would like it in certain aspects. Someone mentioned earlier about what consequences a griefer should face, these consequences will be most likely determined if the griefing was done through legit roleplay, or out of spite.
What I meant was, the greifing, no matter what cause, would be delt with by the leaders of each society (Like it is Done IRL) if you don't want your place griefed, don't come on this server, I understand that some people may want certain grefing policies, but I find the best for any "Realistic Roleplay" Server to simply be how it is IRL, If you grief, expect consequences if you are found out, (Of course cheating in any way, get's you banned, unlike IRL where you are just sent to prison)
Now the consequences can range from death, to exile, to being hunted down, a lot of things really, but not "No Greifing or else you get banned" or "No Greifing, unless you have a real reason" since saying, I feel like destroying that house, is a real reason, but you don't see it often in the real world, because the laws here are punishment for it (Prisons made of Multiple Layers of Obsidian or Bedrock, lol)
But when there is chaos, you might see some of that, since legal power isn't as present, and of course, if someone decides to take all your stuff and burn it in a fire, you have every right to do the same (even if it will render the world blind)
Anyways, I'm just babling on about random stuff, like I usually do, so don't mind me if I'm making no sense.....
- Grey
TL ; DR
Let greifing happen, but let the rules of that certain society decide what their faith will be
Maybe even have some kind of Chest and Door Locking System, that could use a certain key, or something of the sort

Writing Essay:
As William watched the never ending waves of the unknown sea before him and the waters of his past behind, a past he would most likely not return to, he felt a sudden feeling of loss. The ships had been sailing for at least a year, long enough for William to catch th captains eye and just like that the Unforgotten Love had a new first mate, William never thought he would set sail for over a year let alone for 10 minutes, he had always prefered his boots on the hard earth where nothing could sweep up and grab him that he couldnt fight off, he was definetly a warrior, not a sailor but still he was the only one of his family strong enough to go, mostly because he didn't want any of his younger brothers going a hurting themselves. Yes, life was still hard and he never forgot the life he left behind, but the memories were starting to fade, an old padded chairin a study, a great stone fireplace, the smell of a fresh caught boar being cooked, the warm feeling of family and the cold touch of the family broadsword, all worn away like a stone the very waves he sailed upon beats against. But now on this day with the sun on his face, William was determined to return and find his home but first he would need to hear the call of the watchmen and the words that would change his future, "Land Ho."
I really wish you would put why you were on the ship, like before it more than i'm randomly on this ship. It helps explain your character a bit more than i'm on the ship and i just arrived. Helps you be able to blend more with the story. And just remember an rp is the same thing as multiple authors one story. Long story hopefully.
Unrelated to that -> Also if you want i could build the colony ship that arrives in .....Are we gonna stick with iron storm?
Hmmm so i read through the comments more(i skimmed the first time) and i think that if we could all use dokucraft as a texture pack or hire doku to make us one. He is the bomb i swear. Dokucraft
I could perhaps offer insight into differentiating between griefers and "legitimate" in-character thieves, as well as assist you in creating lore. But first, my app as a general player. I'll PM MCFalige as well about my work experience in detail, also.
Job: I would love to aid the in-game development as a moderator and storyteller, given I have experience with both. But like everyone else, I intend to start out as a simple player of the game.

I watched as the ship came to rest in a natural harbor. All the soldiers were bragging about how they planned to hang the bodies of the local animals on their walls. Many other tradesmen were eagerly telling tales of what they intended to do should they succeed in their profession. Me? I simply kept quiet, and wrote in this journal, as well as my catalog of the various landmasses and creatures I had seen from the boat as we passed them. War and labor are not my chosen paths. I am but a simple scribe with a minor talent for magic. I take note of everything around me, and everyone around me. That is what I do. I chronicle what I see and hear and put it down on paper. I've come to be called "The Watcher" for my habit of simply staying in a corner and silently observing the world around me.
Hearing all this gossip reminds me why I joined this ship in the first place. An unexplored new land, untouched by mortal hands? A veritable cornucopia of things to be cataloged and researched. And I do love my research. Already I know that pigs, cows, and chickens can be found in these lands. I've seen a few wolf packs on the islands our ship has passed, as well. But at night, I often make out the shadows of evil things through my telescope, shambling about at the night only to vanish at dawn, leaving piles of ash. I truly wonder what could be in store for us in these new lands. Some will be good. A lot will be bad. But there will always be something to write about, something to research. And something to watch.
My name is Kurisu, and I am a humble scribe, but I have the potential to be so much more.
Hmmm so i read through the comments more(i skimmed the first time) and i think that if we could all use dokucraft as a texture pack or hire doku to make us one. He is the bomb i swear. Dokucraft
Some Painterly Pack combinations would be just wonderful, as well.
Anyway, my views on griefers and thieves.
Griefers have one purpose: to wreck as much as possible so they can feel that hollow sense of empty glee from the rage of others. If a griefer wants to vandalize a building in order to access the chests within, they typically won't bother with the subtlety of a true thief. If they have TNT, they will likely use that. If they don't, they'll just hack a hole through the building's wall and loot its contents, not caring who sees the damage. A griefer doesn't give a damn if they're caught, since they can always giggle at the fond memories of being cussed out right before the IP ban, and then move on to a new server.
An in-character thief, however, will want to AVOID being caught or even so much as tipping anyone off that things have been stolen until the home's owner opens their chests to find them empty. True thieves will be clever or at least subtle: they'll carve out an innocuous-looking opening into a building and then reseal the hole with the blocks they broke open, making the home appear as if all is well. Very clever thieves will even tunnel under the house, since while many with the resources will deck their walls and roof with obsidian, few think to use it for their floor, allowing a thief to slip in, grab what they desire, and then flee back through the tunnel, perhaps filling it in behind them to further add to the confusion. A confident thief may even leave behind a sign item that says "Sandiego was here" or some other calling card. Many great thieves of ages past had a calling card. It added to their style and prestige.
Thieves will go for subtlety and style. Griefers only want to break things that are in their path. Thieves are a wonderful addition to an RP environment as long as their leash is tight. Griefers... are only good for putting into spawn jails with a pack of creepers.
Unrelated to that -> Also if you want i could build the colony ship that arrives in .....Are we gonna stick with iron storm?
Iron Storm doesn't quite focus around the 'World' aspect of the roleplay server. Think, Star Wars, or Dune even (Though, Dune is a worse example as it has a planet called Dune.) 'Iron Storm' is more or less a title of a Fantasy opera. Once our background lore has been completed we'll have the old and new continent's names up, as well as the background lore itself.
Hmmm so i read through the comments more(i skimmed the first time) and i think that if we could all use dokucraft as a texture pack or hire doku to make us one. He is the bomb i swear. Dokucraft
While I like Dokucraft, I was thinking more along the lines of a dedicated texture pack for the server, original in nature, which of course is within the plans of things to come.
Some Painterly Pack combinations would be just wonderful, as well.

In a much more thought out nutshell, these are my views as well. Thank you for posting that, Watcher. Anyways, both recent applications have been added to the wait list. We should have a website and forums up sometime in the near future. Again, I don't like giving an official date mainly because I've seen servers in development end up crashing and burning so to speak. However, I'll keep everyone updated, so feel free to continue mingling amongst yourselves here, don't get too argumentative, and I'll go see what I can do about that custom texture pack.

Okay, okay, horrible joke I know. Don't throw any rotten food this way! Anyways, not quite the update you've guys were actually waiting for, but it's a small treat for those of you that have taken time out of your days to sit for a few minutes and read a horrible wall of text, and then post a brief essay, and with that! It seems, due to specific reasons, our current server host is unable to continue his effort to provide a server for Iron Storm. While, yes this is troubling news, and it's partially the reason why I didn't want to give an official launch date.
However, this does open the doors for another server host to provide a server for Iron Storm! So please, if you know anyone who can, or if you, yourself, can, please send an e-mail this way!
Also, Marex13, I've seen your last application. So you didn't have to repost it. I generally don't reply to every single application sent this way. But I do read them.

Roleplay Experience: You must know, I love fantasy roleplays! So I'd say about 9 months of Fantasy Roleplay Experience.
Other: As you see in "Job" it says terrorist, Roleplays need villans, don't they? But don't worry, when I enter the game, I will be friendly. :smile.gif:
Writing Essay:
1978, Minecraftia, CreeperVille. About 25 years ago, a terrorist, named Graphel set his first evil trick, that was to blow up a house. It worked the first time, but the second time he failed, and the TNT went everywhere. Soon enough, he exploded creeperville. There were no survivors, but Graphel. So Graphel packed up his belongings and went to seek another place to roam. But then he thought, "Wait, I can make a base here, a huge base for myself! Thats always what I wanted!" So he unpacked, and began to build with the millions of resources lying around of whats left over.
Years and years past, and it's time to open the base, called Creeper Fortress. It
was perfect! Meanwhile, at the other town, good people and a running faction thats moving nice and slow is going on. Graphel was a terrorist after all, he liked destroying towns and cities, he's pretty much a pillager terrorist. He decieded since he was getting way too old, he would destroy one last thing before he turns to his old age and soon enough dies. He will destroy the town thats running perfectly, and bring it to choas. Thats where YOU come in, and try to save the town!
*Make builders build walls for protection! Fighters fight off the creatures! I'm telling you, this will make the Iron Storm game really fun!

"And why is that Mr.Jackal?"

the sea. the blue dreadful sea. i thought as i waving goodbye to my family on a ship that i really didnt want to be on but was hoping for a new start and way to help my family back on mainland. i was an architect building and designing old style houses, entertainment buildings, town halls, even entire towns, but then the new "modern" style buildings. they soon started tearing down everything i stood for to build these abominations they call art. i swore i would never give up ye olde style of architecture. soon i lost all credibility in building and went bankrupt. i knew i needed to find a new way to support myself. i eventually ended up on the brink and was living on the street, but as i was walking down the street swimming in my sorrows when i saw a poster i a stop sign advertising the trip a lifetime, requiring as many people as possible to travel to a new and prominent land for colonization.
Yay gateway ftw! I've been looking for rps there lately but none ever appeal to me :sad.gif:

Unrelated to that -> Also if you want i could build the colony ship that arrives in .....Are we gonna stick with iron storm?

While I like Dokucraft, I was thinking more along the lines of a dedicated texture pack for the server, original in nature, which of course is within the plans of things to come.
Introducing!
Wait for it!
Oh my..the anticipation is building up!

IRON STORM USER BARS!
With these, amazing user bars you can show off to the rest of the world your support for this Minecraft roleplay server! Just listen to how amazing they are!
Uhm..yeah, thanks Dave. :dry.gif: By the way, he's not a janitor.

We say thank you!
At the moment there are only two types of Userbars, both in blue/black (I'm lazy), though, both are linked to the original post.
So, enjoy.

I'm telling you, this will make the Iron Storm game really fun!
oh ok i just didnt see any reply on the other one and since we started on this one i didnt know, sorry :laugh.gif:
