So I had an idea ... why should most people pay for servers, they just want to play with some friends tonight. You could host it at home, but then you need to set the server up yourself and port forward etc. ... Something not everyone or wants to do ... so I started a new website called www.openplay.org where you can request a server for a number for games for two hour blocks, totally free ... all paid by ads.

I was hoping to get some feedback here so I can make changes, see what you think before I decide to really invest some money in this and try and get it off the ground.

So, feel free to sign up and PLEASE post back here and tell me what you love and hate about it... I am still up for changes and really what to know your thoughts!

I checked it out ! Its Really Cool . just seems a bit plain. Should throw some color in there! And Possibly make it so you could host for 4 hours? That would be Great Otherwise, Great Website. Amazing Idea! Killer Deal!

I think you just revolutionized Minecraft hosting. I'd think about adding Bukkit support, and maybe even the ability to keep the worlds for a while after the time expires and just have the servers offline. If they want the world back they can pay to have it up per the hour to keep things cheap.

As for the money it is already paying for itself with it's small userbase already... I am not advertising yet as I still want feedback on how it works before I release it to the general public.

We can always host more games, have a website for that?

You have a very good plan here! You are giving the people who can't afford to order a server or the people who can't host one a free way of playing with their friends. I just joined on the site and can you please make a server online-mode=false? Unfortunately not all of my friends have premium Minecraft accounts so can you please make mine? Thank you! Please continue what you guys are doing. You are helping a lot of people thru this.
