Hi. I'm planning to finally buy minecraft with my sister's paypal account.
First question, can you still buy minecraft with paypal?
I have already created a minecraft account a long time ago with a username of 'warpatato' and I discovered today that you could only purchase minecraft with a mojang account.
Second question, is there a difference between a minecraft and a mojang account? Although it is probably obvious as I already tried entering my minecraft account from the fields when it is asking my mojang account on the first step of purchase. Just want to know the difference and why minecraft wont just also consider a minecraft account.
That's where a problem comes in. If I choose to buy with my mojang account, there's a field when you'll enter you desired username, which is in my case 'warpatato'. And since I have already created a minecraft account with the username 'warpatato', the website would naturally tell me that the username is already taken. I really want that username, it has been my username for a long time and I would be willing to go with all the trouble of doing just that.
My second option is buying a gift code right? But the problem is whenever I click the 'Buy gift code' tab beside the 'For this account' tab, the 'credit card' and 'paypal' options will be replaced with 'visa' and 'mastercard'. In simple words I cannot choose the paypal option when I'm gonna buy a gift code.
Third question, is there anyway I could use my sister's paypal to buy a gift code for my minecraft account instead? Or I have no choice but to use visa or mastercard (which both I do not have).
Follow-up question, is a paypal card needed or just the account info? Sorry, I am really knowledgeable when it comes to online purchashing. My sister told me that her paypal card will come in eventually so it will only delay the purchase for sometime if the card is really needed.
Additional Info that might help:
1. I live in the Philippines.
2. My sister's paypal balance is in Philippine peso.

Mojang and Minecraft accounts are completely the same thing. Its just that Minecraft accounts can be migrated into a Mojang account, which means the Mojang account became a Minecraft account. I hope this helps!
Again, PayPay is not offered as a method of payment for giftcodes.
There are PayPal cards? To use PayPay I'm pretty sure you just need to login to PayPay for authentication.
So that means that if paypal is my only available method of payment I can't really salvage my old minecraft account, huh. That sucks. Thank you for the info man. I think I would just add number on 'warpatato' or something xD
I tried it out myself and I think Paypal is not a payment option if you set your country as Philippines.
As for the Mojang/Minecraft accounts I'm not sure to be honest but I think they are the same.
I have set my country as Philippines in the purchase form and I could see Paypal as an option, but I really didn't try much beyond that. I tried clicking on the purchase button with the paypal checked but nothing happens. Maybe that's what you meant? That the paypal option is just kind of there as 'display'? Or broken button or something? Thanks man.

According to cestislife's references, I could only migrate it with a giftcode (which just having paypal as the only payment method I have at hand now is not possible). But that's good to know, especially if I could one day go with credit cards or visa or mastercard. Thanks.
